I had the same issue as you and the Dekoni Nuggets went a long way toward alleviating the pressure. The zip ties don't permanently mark the headphones and do a much better job of holding them in place than the included adhesives.

It makes for a compelling little setup. The Lyr+ is a very good amp and I've also found that it scales up very well with more premium DACs. In my case, a Chord Qutest. If you get a long weekend, take a shot at putting the Yggdrasil in the chain.

Just a vote for the Apos Select tube in the Lyr. The Tung Sol it came with isn't bad but the Apos tube is more refined with more controlled highs. The Tung Sol could be shrill at times.

I certainly can appreciate the technical improvements that it brings, but I really dislike how adjusting it during playback causes the sound to breakup. It's a hell of a good amp anyway so...I'll take my medicine and just keep listening because any HiFi product that's good enough to get you...

I was well aware of the stepped attenuator when I bought it. The Lyr+ is such a good value(used especially) that I bought it ANYWAY.

Have you had any issues with this configuration? The maker of this specifically states that the Bifrost AND the Lyr must be on top(for heat dissipation I assume)? What I really need as a way to mount the Lyr and Bifrost to the top of a surface.
