[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
Quote: Clearly you don't know the mathematics of probability and statistics. Assuming it's a quality control issue, getting one bad one is unlikely... getting 2, 3 or 4 in a row is absurdly improbable (particularly since they were different Sony models). It's far more probable that people...- listenCarefully

[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
Quote: Ps I don't understand how me liking them for the first few weeks means sh!t. Are you seriously suggesting that it's some kind of personality flaw to change one's opinion after a design problem becomes apparent ???? Magazines like Stereophile routinely revise opinions based on...- listenCarefully

[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
Quote: Mine sound awesome when first plugged in but, over the next 10 to 20 minutes, the left earphone "slowly" fades down to about about 1/3-1/4 of what it should be. I wonder if, after the first few minutes, people just don't notice this... I really can't see this affecting only a...- listenCarefully

[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
Quote: I loved the sound of these earphones until they stopped working properly after just few weeks. Shoot me for gushing over their sound before I realized that I'd bought a useless piece of crap that only works for 10-20 minutes at a time before one channel cuts out. Maybe I should...- listenCarefully

[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
Quote: I don't understand why everyone keeps raving about these and ignoring the fact they are plagued with balance problems that make them virtually useless. Sure they sound good but what good are they if every time you take them out you don't know if they will work for 5 minutes or an...- listenCarefully

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
Ps I'm getting a good seal in both ears so the poor performance (in comparison to Comply's) is not due to poor fit.- listenCarefully

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
Quote: I got custom ACS eartips for my HF3 and was VERY disappointed. The were inferior to a simple pair of Comply's in EVERY way. The Comply's have better sound (maybe because they allow for deeper insertion), they have significantly better isolation, they are much less susceptible to...- listenCarefully

ACS custom tips for Etymotic HF3.
Yes, one would "assume" but... I'm wondering what people's ACTUAL experience has been when comparing the Comply's to the custom ACS. -
ACS custom tips for Etymotic HF3.
Just got the custom tips for my HF3. The sound seems more balanced than any other tips I've tried with the Ety's but I'm a little surprised that I seem to get better isolation with Comply's. Isolation and comfort where that main reasons to get the custom tips. Has anyone else had that experience?- listenCarefully

Does iPod Classic have a sound quality advantage over the iPhone 5?
This question has almost certainly been asked before but, after searching I can't find a direct comparison. Any thoughts on whether the iPod Classic has an audible sound quality advantage over the iPhone5?- listenCarefully

[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
PS. What's so infuriating is that it's like Sony invented a new kind of malfunction just to plague these IEMs and make the point that, you never get something for nothing. Seriously who has ever heard of this kind of malfunction. It's absurd.- listenCarefully

[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
Quote: Actually, my MH1c's do "reset" and function fine after I leave them for a time. It's just that, 2 nights in a row, halfway through a long walk the left side simply stopped working. I really like the sound of these and it pisses me off that they are essentially useless (since I can't...- listenCarefully

[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
Quote: No it' NOT a $20 earphone. It's an $80 earphone and the fact that some people got their hands on bulk packages that they are selling for a discount doesn't give Sony an excuse for producing crap.- listenCarefully

[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
Quote: It doesn't really matter since I've got Etymotic Hf3's and I'm going to be getting a pair of JH13s but.... What? Not even the crappiest mass produced earphones from Apple only work for 30-40 minutes. It's like Sony went out of their way to find the most bizzare and obscure way to...- listenCarefully

[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
It NEVER fails... You think you have something special and there's ALWAYS a catch!!!! What good are these POS earphones if 40 minutes after you plug them in one of the channels drops down to nothing. Damn piece of crap, what a waste of $40. Ps. Don't tell me it's moisture because I...- listenCarefully

Am I taking a chance on a "refurbished" Amperior????
Does anyone know if the earcup "swivel" on the strap can be tightened so that it doesn't move so easily? I suspect that the blue cover cap can pop off so the swivel can be tightened but I don't want to force it and not be able to get it back on.- listenCarefully

Best Custom IEM for simple iPhone source?
I've been toying with the idea of going all out on a custom IEM but want something that is optimized for a portable source such as an iPhone. I am a little worried that I might invest $500-$1000 on something that people rave about only to find out that it needs an outboard amp to really sing...- listenCarefully

Am I taking a chance on a "refurbished" Amperior????
Just thought I'd mention I actually compared the Momentums (which I got for a great price) back to back with the Amperiors. It was "no contest". The Momentums are more comfortable, look pretty and sound pretty (for casual listening) but... the Amperior is a serious audio "tool" that is revealing...- listenCarefully

Am I taking a chance on a "refurbished" Amperior????
That's what I figured but then I thought about it and realized that shipping damage is NEVER covered by the the company that sold the product. It's covered by, and the responsibility, of the shipping company. How'd you like to have to sort through that mess? USPS would certainly want to see...- listenCarefully

Am I taking a chance on a "refurbished" Amperior????
Quote: It seems one more person got lucky that no dropped a box on their headphones during shipment, or stepped on them or dropped them or etc etc etc. As far as paying for what you get how much would it cost to put these in a paper box? [REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
BTW, these probably work so well for me because my 53 year old ears probably don't hear high frequencies like they used to. Even with that, it's clear that this earphone is significantly rolled off... but, in such as way that most of music still sounds balanced and in such as way that serves...- listenCarefully

...reduced. This technique worked very well for my upwardly tilted ear canals but you might need to try a variation on the idea. *BTW, once you figure out how to work with what you have there is absolutely no need for different tips or a different cable.
