SONY NW-ZX100
Found some answers in this thread as far as the pm3 is concerned. I'm thinking an A17 paired with an Oppo HA2 might be a better option than a zx100 for my pm3. Thoughts?- jmourik

SONY NW-ZX100
I have the same question about the international version. Anybody knows? Has anybody used this one or the a17 with an Oppo pm3? If so, what's the verdict?- jmourik

Mahler's Fifth
Have you looked at Classicsonline – The total classical music download site ? They usually have a good selection, maybe not at the quality you desire though (mostly 192 kbps)...- jmourik

Typing speed test, how fast are you?
If I correct for the number of fingers I used, I get 1180char/230words (it is called 10-fast-fingers, I only use 2!).- jmourik

Are people this stupid?
Funny you mention this :-) I was bidding on this a few days ago: ReadyNAS NV+ 1TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage 2x500 - (eBay item 150186667495 end time Nov-27-07 10:17:54 PST) It sold for $888,98. The kicker: you can get a new unit for $905 (and temporary with one more drive): NETGEAR...- jmourik

Mini plug that fits ATH-ANC7?
My sentiments exactly. I use it on the plane too, so 1m should be enough. And it gives me the idea that it's a bit better quality. As if I'm able to notice -
Mini plug that fits ATH-ANC7?
Oh great, thanks a bunch!!! I had kind of given up on it! I'll get one of those, or maybe the 1m version. I'll do some measuring first... -
best home option to get from flac to the amp?
+1 for the Squeezebox. I've been using the squeezebox for years now, love it. Got all my music ripped to flac on a pc running slimserver. Got the sb2 in the living room talking wirelessly to the pc/slimserver. Works like a champ. Sounds great too! And so very, very convenient!!!- jmourik

Gapless flash?
Funny, I was listening to Snoop Dogg on the plane tonight, and wishing for gapless playback! And flash, so I'd get long battery life! But one more thing would be nice too: a line-out so I can hook it up to a nice amp... Guess that's too much to ask for now, right?- jmourik

Preferred Lossless Format: FLAC or WAV
I ripped all my CDs to flac, mostly with EAC, lately with dbPoweramp. Then I use dbPoweramp to transcode from flac to whatever format I want on my dap. I did some comparisons, using Foobar with the abx plugin, and found out I can't distinguish between flac and mid-to-high bitrate mp3/wma/aac...- jmourik

Are you sure you can hear the difference between flac and a high quality lossy format, when played on your dap? You might just be wasting space! I listen to my dap mostly on the plane, so there's a lot of ambient noise. No point in using flac!- jmourik

Myths And Facts About AAC
Well, all of this talk about aac made me run some tests and I've now encoded all my music to aac. I used Dbpoweramp with the Nero aac codec, quality .45. It did some dbt with foobar and couldn't tell the difference from .45 on up, so that should do :-) Now I can get all my music stuffed onto the...- jmourik

IPod vs Zune
Zune is nice and simple. I like the screen better, just because of it's size. Too bad it's only 30Gb though, and the battery life is mediocre... (Compared to iPod video)- jmourik

Should I get a Zune or a ZVM?
I have the Zune and like it. Picked it over the ZVM because of the bigger screen. But if video isn't important to you... I do like the Cowon D2 though. Haven't seen or heard it yet, but the battery life is quite appealing! Something to keep in mind. I get 8~10 hours of life out of my Zune...- jmourik

cowon x5 and d2 vs zune
The specs of the D2 look very good I must admit. But the screen is a bit too small for my liking, plus it doesn't have enough memory. If you're serious about watching videos on it, I'd advise you to go to a store and compare! When I was shopping for my player, I compared the ZVM with the Zune. I...- jmourik
