Need an amp for HD650S
These threads always have ten posts with ten different suggestions. Even a forum dedicated to these questions can hardly point out a clear winner. Sound is subjective, so you might have to try a few things. I use the Nufore HDP with my 650's and love it.- oshia86

The discovery thread!
Got the Philips in today. Spent only about 10 minutes with them so far. Impression: I hate to say it, I'm unimpressed. I was expecting more over the Monoprice headphones. Maybe that kind of took some of the thunder from it.- oshia86

The discovery thread!
Ordered a set of the Phillips. Don't really see a point in "bass head" headphones, but hopefully they are balanced enough for my liking. At least these should fit better than the Monoprice 8320's. Got them from Amazon with free 2day shipping. Should be here Saturday.- oshia86

Best headphone amp for Sennheiser HD650, for under $70?
Not gonna happen. Although I wouldn't say the ST is particularly good, I don't think there is much in the $200 range that is going to give you any bump in sound quality.- oshia86

Sennheiser HD 700: Officially Unveiled at CES 2012!
Wow. Glad I got my HD650's for $330 just a couple of weeks ago. I got them from Amazon.- oshia86

The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
Picked these up with a recent cable purchase. Real nice buy for $7.11. Got them plugged into my Nuforce HDP at the moment. My only real complaint, you can hear every single movement of those cables. Kind of annoying. +1, will buy again!- oshia86

(Electronic) Noise heard on headphone connected to icon HDP and PC mobo
A list of pc specs couldn't hurt. How is everything setup? Any devices nearby that could be attributing to the noise? I have a similar setup and no issues. I use HDP to drive my HD650's via the usb connection, and have the rca out's connected to my speakers.- oshia86

My Asus Essence STX caught fire ...
Quote: You just told us. It caught fire! Really though, it could have been anything mentioned above. Silverstone makes some good psu's so I might look at the card first. So how did you put this fire out? Did you get an extinguisher and paint the pc with it?- oshia86

Replacement for 325is.
Just to update. Like I said before, I replaced the 325is with the HD650's and I now have a Nuforce HDP on the way. I returned the Essence ST, as that was just kind of the "gateway drug".- oshia86

Quote: I agree. For a while, I only used my Grado 325is. Then I wanted more, and purchased a Asus Essence ST. I then started to really hate the fatigue of the Grado's, and bought the HD650's. I've now decided to send the sound card back, and trade it out for a Nufore HDP. At some...- oshia86

As far as my system, I am thinking of ditching the Asus ST, sending it back to Newegg, and just using an external headphone amp/dac with a line out. The Nuforce HDP looks like it is gonna fit the bill pretty well.- oshia86

Quote: Really? I can run my system off of a 850w Corsair HX850, which is one of the most recommended psu's for this setup. This will pull about 700w from the wall, at 80% efficiency equals a 560w pull from the psu. That 1200 watt unit you have is made to output 1200w continuously at 50...- oshia86

I can't honestly take someone seriously that posts their power supply requirements from a Thermaltake calculator. Again, throw money at the problem, don't do it intelligently, is what I'm getting out of this. You're honestly worried about an outage as well? Wouldn't it have been smarter to build...- oshia86

Quote: Edit: Retracted my statement, as I didn't see your last post. Overkill is right, to the point where it doesn't make sense. Why two power supplies? Why not go with 30" monitors? No Gentle Typhoons? I could go on. What do you have those cpu's oc'd to? I would hope they are in...- oshia86

HD-650 AMP/DAC conundrum
I plan on going with the Nuforce HDP myself. I figured I would skip some of the lower end stuff and get a pretty decent setup right from the start. It should hold me over for a while, considering a nice jump up from that will be pretty costly.- oshia86

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Had a pair of Grado 325is. Got tired of the fatigue. Purchased a pair of the HD650's with the intent to either return them, or sell the Grado's. I've already found a buyer for the Grado's. Currently running these out of the headphone out of my Asus Essence ST.- oshia86

Replacement for 325is.
I don't think I've looked into those before. I admit, I still got a lot to learn with the headphone side of things, so I'll read up on them. I really like the ST. It made a large difference even with the Grado's low 32ohm rating. Odd enough, the Grado's would even sound better with the amp...- oshia86

Replacement for 325is.
I've been using my Grado 325is with the Asus Essence ST. Lately I've found myself getting tired of the intense high's and mid's of this can, along with the comfort factor of them. One word keeps coming to mind, and that is fatigue, even at low/moderate listening levels. I want something that can...- oshia86
