REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
Concerning this recent discussion / developement of yours i'd rather say, strange lays in different angle. Yulong claims that he optimised Amanero firmware / driver for his DA8 purpose. Your experience concerning Amanero vs. Yulong response / support seems to tell different story. That might...- SidiousX

NFB-17.32 vs.NFB-1(2014) or
I've heard both 17 and 1. IMHO soundwise 1 all the way, no doubt about it. Do not forget the fact that only ES9018 allowing u to use 32/384 and DSD/DXD. Who know what future brings and it seems that ES9018 is more future proof already. Saying this i am aware about USD 200 difference, still if...- SidiousX

Audio-GD NFB-1.32
Unfortunatelly you need to look again as it is quite different. NFB-1S was previously sell as NFB-1P in old case. This DAC is build on NFB-17 mainboard (minus WM8741 modules) + ES9018 modul taken form Compass2 project. So magical recycle. NFB-1 eiter .32 or 2014 (only case is different) is...- SidiousX

Audio-GD NFB-3 (2014) ES9018 DAC
You already have existing topic for NFB-1 http://www.head-fi.org/t/625945/audio-gd-nfb-1-32 It has already some valueable feedback, the difference with NFB-1 (2014) is the case only, there is no point to make new topic. Concerning shipping, you have 2 ways DHL, EMS. You have chosen DHL which...- SidiousX

Audio-gd USB-32 Firmware, Drivers, and Feedback Thread
I think it safe to bet he did not do any changes in DAC construction per se. 2 things he had to change as i said earlier were USB-32 module to make it DSD compatible, so it ends as USB-32DSD as he announced some time ago and (that's my quess) he had to change ES9018 clock for higher to make it...- SidiousX

Audio-gd USB-32 Firmware, Drivers, and Feedback Thread
It would be fine & dandy, but i do not think so. I assume that USB-32DSD is required, which is modified USB-32 (modified built?, modified clock/clocks?), aswell for proper 384K you need higher clock than even TCXO which was provided previoulsy for ES9018 itself in Audio-GD case.- SidiousX

True to that, its inconvinient. Even simple NFB-12 had this option on the front panel via switch.- SidiousX

What is your NFB-28 replacement then, LKS? something different? Edit: OK i see in your description, LKS it is. So my 2nd quess was correct. If you could compare, my question still stands. I am on the similar path...- SidiousX

Amanero suggest you have replaced NFB-28 by Yulong DA8, is that correct? If so, could you provide direct comparison of sound signature, from your point of view? TIA.- SidiousX

Audio-gd NFB-10
When i am asking for advice about ES9018 DAC's i always recomended TCXO upgrades. Btw you can order TCXO upgrades, whenever you want to, exchanging the clocks procdure is simple. Now you have std clocks, if do not feel need to upgrade its fine aswell. Ref 10.32 have 3 R-core transformers from...- SidiousX

Audio-gd NFB-10
There are 2 differences between NFB-28 and NFB-10ES3 1.Analog inputs 1xXLR and 1xRCA inspite of 2nd outputs 2.More powerfull R-Core transformer Beside that both units are the same. Exact same mainboard. In case of ES9018 implemetation as both of these DAC's are, both TCXO...- SidiousX

Audio-gd fixed output level question
It simply goes like this. If you are using your NFB-5.2 as DAC and you are connecting it to Integrated Amplifier, you should use fixed level output to get the best sound from DAC and use volume level regulation from integrated amp. In that case you should use jumper. Hovever if you are using The...- SidiousX

Its clear when you compare build of old 10 and new 10ES/28 that construction evolved in electronic sense, that's my point of view. Basic idea of this built was not changed, that's the truth aswell. What is not entirely truth? What Kingwa should have said to you, buy my new 10E2/28 you will hear the difference that shift you to new heaven? He said what honest seller/constructor should said. Project evolve, see the old one and compare to the new one, signal path, pcb scheme yada, yada...- SidiousX
