Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk
I rank both as top candidates as far as bass quality goes in today's market. Z1R and Feiwan would be up there too. I'd even go as far to say that these sets outclass most summit-fi sets in bass too (Anni23, Jewel, Storm, RN6, XE6, etc) Volur: Its bass is more macrodynamic with a muscular sense...- dleblanc343

Elysian Annihilator 2023
I prefer the Singularity because it's more realistic in tuning and dynamics are superior to M9, but the M9 has the edge in imaging/ staging and a generally more open sound. M9 has darker mids, Singularity mids are very nicely in line with IEF target, which can sometimes be a bit more tiring...- dleblanc343

Elysian Annihilator 2023
We're using the same setup to the tee haha. Actually, I recently swapped out AMP11 in favor of AMP12W, but still very similar I think we have similar tastes! Considering you picked up my Caldera too :)- dleblanc343

Elysian Annihilator 2023
Great review as always and incredible looking pics. Anni23 is definitely a looker! Glad you appreciated your time with this IEM. I know it may not have been up your tuning alley, but figured you'd still be able to enjoy :beerchug:- dleblanc343

Frequency response at the ear drum
That’s exactly the point I was making :) There are many more outliers beyond the objective measurement at play, that could yield a better experience with a different calibrated vehicle/ IEM. Like you mention, the suspension, the brakes, are all very crucial secondary components (think eartip...- dleblanc343

Frequency response at the ear drum
Good lord, too much science up in here! I jest… but really I think there’s a couple factors people don’t talk about which breaks down critical analysis to a very efficient degree. 1. Volume-dependent HRTF I hate that this is a thing, but it’s probably the biggest contributing factor to...- dleblanc343

Subtonic STORM: Impressions and Discussion
I think it's fairly easy to hear a marked improvement in fidelity going from a Simgot EA1000 to kilobuck IEM's. Not all, but some picks out there are well above the 10% improvement range. Having heard the Storm, I can say without question any single person who does a blind A/B would come away...- dleblanc343

Elysian Annihilator 2023
The interesting thing about the Tia treble is that based on people's high frequencies hearing ability or loss, the timbral qualities change very much from one person to another Also that the crazy Tia peak being in a frequency range that does not render much actual instrument information, it...- dleblanc343

Elysian Annihilator 2023
Right, Volur is an interesting set because it does some things exceedingly well, and then other marks are missed and just so unfortunate because it could have been a homerun. I see it as having a bit of an identity criss between being a monitor first and foremost & being a listening enjoyment...- dleblanc343

Elysian Annihilator 2023
I kind of know why there's an influx of Anni sales as of late. I know of 2 specific sets being listed in budgeting for the upcoming Dio, although timing is really up in the air 1 user impulse bought and moved on feeling uncomfortable about the price premium over Monarch MK2 Another one I...- dleblanc343

Comment by 'dleblanc343' on listing 'ES Lab ES1a'
For anyone on the fence about this - it's an endgame earspeaker/ headphone at an absurdly low cost. Sounds like a hybrid of SR009 and X9000, and right near that performance tier for a fraction of the price. So good I'm tempted to buy this as my 2nd pair, buy buy buy!- dleblanc343

I'll be ordering a Red Cape for you Bobby - that way you can be Audio Thor :beerchug: I bet it would sound incredibly good with Sovereign or Sovereign Symphony by Nightjar. As @aaf evo mentions, the Trailli OG still seems to have that magic that even the Ti can't reproduce, and the community knows that as good as Trailli is (the tuning, tone and techs blend being a top tier generalist) it is starting to lag behind the new players in pure techs. Trailli Ti really...- dleblanc343

Seems we have very aligned preferences. Mentor is quickly becoming forgotten but still is a top tier offering for me. Also a favorite of mine when it comes to mids, between it and CP622B but the Mentor is more dynamic and textured.- dleblanc343
