Ozzy announced today that he had to cancel all his tours due to struggles with his health. In tribute I dusted off the the C12's, plugged them into a USB wired connection on the BTR3k and found my old EQ presets in Pulse Effects. FUUUUUUUAAAAWWWWWW I forgot how excellent (and brutal) the...- SpaceOperaVillain

...haven't really changed sonically with use, but I do think the ZEX Pro is a hair better and the bass response on those are quite good, too. C12 - I rarely use them anymore due to tinnitus, and the much more mellow GK10 fully replaced these on my night stand. I love them for classic rock and...- SpaceOperaVillain

I just used mine yesterday after having not used them for at least a couple months, and as soon as the music started I was impressed. Guess I forgot how good they sound, especially for the price. Then I started asking myself why I bought a few pairs that cost four times as much since I couldn't...- MacAttack7

So far the opinions seem a little polarizing, but I thought I’d chime in on the CCA NRAs. My previous favorite chi-fi IEM was the CCA C12 with the C10 pro a close second, but I have to say that I like the more affordable NRAs even better. My source is iPad streaming Spotify to the Q5k via the...- pfloyd

Yes, Rite of Spring is brutal yet fascinating. The version by Michael Tilson Thomas and the Boston Symphony Orchestra is also a very good one, clean and crisp dynamics and a wonderful performance.- Nimweth

Yes, it's completely savage and the C12's really like this one too over a balanced source. Now that I know that the DD in there is 10 mm and not 7, I understand my amazement about the bass quantity from these a lot better :joy: It's funny - on this same recording is The Rite of Spring. I know about those effects in Kissing A Fool, and in the rest of the songs in George Michael’s Faith album. The process behind them is discussed in this article by the album audio engineer himself, Chris Porter, as opposed to a bunch of random guys weighing in with their opinions—not that it’s...- SybilLance

...stacked DD / MST unit and don't add too many BA drivers I think it has a chance. One of the things that really threw me off when I first got my C12 was trying to figure out why my ears were confused on certain pieces of music. All About That Brass Final music style impression on the NRA. I had a good A/B comparison between GK10, NRA, DQ6, and CCA's C12 this afternoon on Canadian Brass' recording of Brahms. I found some tips that cleaned up my GK10 a lot ... it still isn't quite enough to pull the Geek from a veiled...- SpaceOperaVillain

So great to hear your quest for the treble in classical (and so eloquently presented) so I can finally feel not to be alone/odd in my IEM quest. Most of the classical recordings are indeed "gentle" in treble, and mostly listening to classical - my IEM quest was all targeted to getting more...- PhonoPhi

...again. Glorious! To my ears, the NRA really belongs with higher priced equipment when evaluating the treble. It scales up in the same way as my C12s do in terms of raw treble detail and has what I'd estimate to be about 8/10ths of the output at the same volume setting (C12 are dangerous...- SpaceOperaVillain

After spending significantly more time with my CCA C12 I've come to the conclusion that the bass just isn't up to my standards. I like bass that goes low but is tight and clearly defined. Thanks for the CKX review. By chance did you ever have the C12, and if so, how do they compare? I'm looking for a C12 without the 2.4kHz bump that is about 3db above the Harman curve and 4db above the IEF Neutral curve/- DunninLA
