Updrade to more musical/fun dac amp

Yes, it does. Mojo 2 has an intelligent desktop mode. After a couple minutes/hours, it bypasses the battery if connected to power/mains permanently with an adequate source ( best is a 2A wall wart ).

Updrade to more musical/fun dac amp

Can't comment bout the Hugo by experience. The Mojo is a great, mid-centric, very musical DAC/amp with no emphasis on both ends which, imo, is worth to get. The Mojo 2 is more "linear" in comparison, but compensate this with the added xfeed and the "UHD- EQ" (DSP). And this makes it even...

Updrade to more musical/fun dac amp

I'd second the Mojo 2. With its DSP feature and cross feed you can't do better in a portable DAC/amp atm. While it doesn't sound stock as mid-centric as the Mojo og, you can fine tune the presentation to your liking very easy. Drives headphones quite well, from 20ohm Era-1 to 350ohm FT3. ;)

Got it, thanks. So unless my unit cracks up or I move to a bigger space, I won't to the upgrade to R27. :) Plus the R28, in regard to the other/higher devices of AGD, is a real "space saver".

Yes. It's the same size. I'm a bit hesitant on the upgrading path to R27 bc of its size, too. The R27HE would be the logical step up for me. But, as I mentioned before, the R28 fits all my needs perfectly for now. Drives all headphones, the RCA inputs for Mojo or my TT, feeding my Elac...

Possible. Thank you for your time and opinion/ explanation. :) Thank you too. Wasn't an galvanic isolated upgrade available for the og? I'm curious as this would make more sense for me, except upgrading to R27 for this specific reason. ( and others, obviously) Not that there's an issue on my...

Yes. It's the same, except the braiding and the "feel", afaik. Have booth, Claire as 3.5 SE and Noir xlr, so not comparable, but the stats should be the same.

Can't understand the change of AGD from R28 to R28NOS. At least at my R28 (2020), there're a lot more options to play with. First the modes itself, I'm at OS8 usually, but switch to NOS when in mood. My device also has the RCA inputs, which imo is a benefit, at least for me pairing it...

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]

Agree. It's great to have the possibility to squeeze out a bit more fun out of my rather neutral SEM5. It's a fantastic headphone to look into the mix, but with an addition of 6db to the bottom the fun is catchy as hell. Paired with the R28, you'll have even more fun driving whatever is plugged...

You can cover the tip of the screwdriver with electric tape, this should give you the grip needed. For such critical screws, we used to take diamond paste, which acts like an interlock between the screwdriver and the head of the screw. Maybe something like hand wash paste made with walnut shell...

Best Smartphone for audiophile Part II (Updated: Jan 2020)

That's really mad, to deal with a faulty device and don't get the support from the vendor. Yes, as an owner (and user) of the Alpha6400, there was no way around. :) I like to fiddle around with the settings.

Best Smartphone for audiophile Part II (Updated: Jan 2020)

No issues with my Xperia 1 mk3 since 3 years, except the damage I've done to it. ^^ The weak link is the battery, ime. Soundwise it is really good, but hasn't enough power to drive lots of headphones to loud levels. Can listen to my FD7s with volume nearly maxed out without. Not in any way a...

    QUAD ERA-1 Thread

I second this. Maybe it's a bit of mental bias ( for sure it is  ), but I've yet to find an amp/dac that mess up the sound out of the Era-1. Guess an unsuitable amp like my TA26 tube (for my VO) will screw down the quality. ^^

What is the headphone that you will keep forever and never sell?

It'd be my Quad Era-1 for sure. Not my first "audiophile" headphone, but the most enjoyable bc it works wonderfully with all genres I listen to. :metal:

@jonathan c Are you jumping around with the Aeolus while listening? ^^ Or where are the vibrations coming from? The CD drive? Isn't the Audio lab damped well to eliminate the self introduced vibrations? No offend, just curious questions. :)

Wonder what dedicated devices out of the AGD line up could replace my R28 at a reasonable cost factor? Well, there should be an upgrade anyway. ^^ Not that I want to replace the R28 in the near future, but still curious about the options. Imo, it's the best option to drive nearly all...

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

It's not that uncommon to choose a "hotter" line out. My dac/preamp is at 2.5v/ 5v. Well, 2v would still be better for a wider volume adjustment range on the amp itself. It really depends on the use case. But some manufacturer chooses this to achieve a "better" sound out of the box in...
