My DIY electrostatic headphones
me too wachara, i had an idea for improving the design of the holes. here it is - tell me what do you think. Left is the "original", right i think might improve air flow. it's important that the copper is untouched because if we go deeper it may start to peal- peterroumian

Electrical properties of wire for DIY cable
i'd like to ask a strange question right now i'm looking at moon audio cables and seeing the prices i wonder what if i use a really thick cable which before the headphones turns into a thinner one (yes soldered) - thus it will isolate from mechanical noise and the thin part will be short...- peterroumian

advantages - will work disadvantages - pointless and thick hence uncomfortable you have to match the thickness of the wires left channel has to be the same thickness as the left ground in a stereo headphone cable thickness is L+R=Ground since it's common, but i've noticed that its...- peterroumian

buy two stereo headphone cables red is the right channel but connect it to the ground of the cable - some may argue that's wrong but you are getting thicker wire gray is the ground for both channels but connect it to the signal wires of the cable (the colored ones) blue is the left channel...- peterroumian

which headphones are you going to use, because if it's going to be the denons it's not a good idea to ruin their cable since it's very good - please be more detailed because there are differences that you are not noticing if the denons - separate, two conductor cable, for the mic, strapped...- peterroumian

yes ONE ground (here we use 2 conductors for it to improve SQ) i'm not sure what do you want to do - put a mic on the D2000? and no - amp wont fix the "long cable problem" and if you want to use the headphones with an amp - you WILL need a separate ground for the mic- peterroumian
