You have no right to make so much sense. The measurements police will be after you

No doubt the speed of the RS1X is unmatched for me. And after a considerable amount of break in the headphones sound more balanced and sweeter. It does make me wonder what the gs3000x would have sounded like if I had put about 100 more hours on them. I probably only put about 10 hours of use...

I am not being aggressive at all and I apologise if my reply read that way to you. My point was just to say that a product is more than the sum of its parts. For instance here is my phono pre which is a tube design. It also looks very plain and simple but it saw off some of the most complicated...

Eleven Audio XIAUDIO Formula S Headphone Amplifier

Do you understand the topology of the amplification in the Formula S? It’s a unique amplifier with multiple gain stages. JFET topology which is more complicated to implement and the parts are more expensive than say a MOSFET design. I think people should be more measured when making comments...

What’s pitiful about the internals of the Formula S?

I completely agree. I love tube gear for its unique and open sound but I don’t think I could better my combination right now. The XI AUDIO Form S and Powerman is ridiculously good. Solid state works a treat with grados. Now that I’ve gone past the initial burn in on the Rs1x I don’t think I’ve...

It would be interesting to try the hd800 now but I think I would find it boring compared to the Rs1x.

Thanks for your response but honestly you could explain all day it won’t make much of a difference. These guys will go on and on. I think they are trying to prove they are really intelligent. But when their aim is to win an argument rather than discover something it’s difficult to converse with...

Wow a mention of burn in and already a few pages of reading go by. I don’t get why anybody would chuckle at a person claiming he has heard cables sound different over time hence burn in. It’s this patronising stance that doesn’t help anyone. It would be better to say I’ve not experienced this...

Lol you can never keep these guys away can you. It’s like they are dying to be heard. Ok we get it you don’t believe in burn in. Wuptdy doo

Possibly, there are so many variables I have given up trying to figure out why burn in and break in exists but it does and boy what a difference it makes sometimes. I’m also burning in the extension cable mind you, so that’s also a factor. Today it sounds sweeter than the last time I listened.

Going through that now. I knew right away I much preferred this sound signature compared to others. But it’s beginning to sound more and more coherent every day. I am still leaving it on in the background most days.

    A comparison review of RS1X and GS3000X

To a certain extent this is very true of grados in comparison to other headphones. But if your system is very revealing you will notice the difference higher end amplification can bring. For instance my DAC is very high end and amp is pretty high end - so even when I flick the switch from low...
