HD 25-1 II are superb.
Headphones delivered! Trying them out as I write this. Comfort isn't too shabby, but I can see what people mean when "tight" is often used. I'm sure it will lighten up after a while~. And they look far better than I imagined. I have no idea about listening experience and audiophilia, but...- YonasAu

Quote: I've heard they will lighten up and adapt after some wear. Putting them over a pile of books helps out too. Just gotta watch out so you don't lose the isolation when it sits too lightly no?- YonasAu

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Quote: But that is a case of simply not listening to your advice. And I assume you didn't have the whole situation about his hardware so knowing that would have made it smoother sailing and explaining to him what matters for good audio quality. But yeah, I know people that asks for...- YonasAu

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Quote: Haha I know right. Used those for ... 1-2 years, solid listening on the street, commuting and so on. Can't say I regret any of my time with those despite the geek-level that eroded. I ordered a pair of HD25-1 II two days ago or something so we'll see how much have changed! Will...- YonasAu

HD 25-1 II are superb.
When I read all this I get so excited! Ordered a pair two days ago so hopefully they'll be here tomorrow. Had a thread earlier about changing from SS Siberia, but it died swiftly and thus my hunt took a break. Came across this when my research started again and I decided to go for something...- YonasAu

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Quote: Some need to taste it to be able to appreciate it for what it is. I know my friend is deaf to music and everything that's SQ. I tested him out by changing between two drastically different EQ settings, and he didn't notice a single difference. Took a huge turn after he forgot his...- YonasAu

Moving from Steelseries Siberia - closed cans
Have looked around further on reviews and such and rounded down the headphones to DJ1 and ES7. If the DJ1 is as big as I think, then it ends up with ES7. thought about DJ1 Pro at a time but the impendance would scare my mp3 shitless. and haha, going good with the comparison shots...- YonasAu

any news on the comparison shot ex0du5~? it also seems the price range on all four im considering isn't that huge so anything goes now. this will be my first "real" reference headphones so believing anything else would sound better is out of my grasp. the real knocker should be its size...- YonasAu

that would be awesome ex0du5! really interested in seeing the difference, I'll get nightmares if there are phones spacier and is "fuglier" because of it than Siberia. the Ultrasone ones look adjustable enough so the band at top should lie snuggly or close to the head. oh yeah. found this...- YonasAu

I feel pretty much convinced about the Ultrasones. now it's a decision between chrome sexiness or black & white beasts, both look gorgeous! I don't dare questioning the comfort level, I have no doubts about them. gonna see for comparison reviews and hope I get any hints on their size. I...- YonasAu

first time I google Ultrasone's headphones, they look neat! any risk of running into fake ones on ebay like with most HPs? I'll catch more reviews later of it. more elaboration of them would be highly appreciated too, like its size vs SIberia. the siberia ones looked so huge the way it poked...- YonasAu

greetings elitists of the audio world. bear with my ... lack of knowledge. I'm here to indulge myself in good sound quality for once and head-fi is just the community I've always appreciated the concept of high quality headphones. Was very happy with my Siberia despite them looking quite...- YonasAu

New headphones
Can't recommend the ATH-M50 as I havent heard them myself but I am highly interested in them. Maybe you could take a look at ATH-ES7? Closed back, smaller than they look and if it matters, a sexy beast. I've read about people thinking it got a 'fun n exciting' mid range and the sound...- YonasAu
