Audio-GD DI-20
I have R7HE21 (Equivalent of MK2). It has USB Isolator, I2S Isolator, HE Power supply. It seems to me that we find these in the DI-20-HE. It really looks like the R7HE21 has a DI-20-HE built-in. So how can the difference be that huge ? I just don't understand how...Please explain. I'd like to...- XavierP56

Why ? R7HE21 (or MK2/3) have same Amanero board, same Accusilicon clocks. Please explain why using DI-20-HE is better. if it's better, it means something is missing / wrong with the R7HE21 (or Mk 2/3). I just can't understand why it would bring improvement with R7HEMk2 (or R7HE21 which has...- XavierP56

Hello. Does a DI-20-HE improves the sound quality of a R7HE21 ? Both have accusillicon clocks, seems the DI-20-HE is already built-in within R7HE. I'm wondering if the DI-20-HE is a worthwhile addition for my current R7HE21. Any feedback welcome, thanks.- XavierP56

Audio-GD DI-20
Hello, How can a DI-20-HE improve the sound quality with a R7-HE ? Both have USB isolator, FPGA, Regenerative Power-supply... isn't the DI-20-HE already built-in with R7-HE ? How much is the improvement ? What connection is used between R7-HE and DI-20-HE ? Many thanks- XavierP56

If you were sending a sine wave as output; NOS at 44.1 khz: It won't look as sinus but your brain will interpret this as sinus. OSx8: It would look at sinus but it is "interpolated" data : On real music, it will create "fake" data. It will sound smoother but sometimes less real. Too beautiful...- XavierP56

Got my Pearl 48 0.5 hdmi cable. It might be a little better than the basic HDMI but not by much. The USB still provides more trebble but I like the more downward sound of the HDMI cable in fact :-) Not sure that be able to say which is best in fact...- XavierP56

Sure but OS8 does that in R7HE :-) Roon can do it up to 192khz and R7HE can reach up to 384khz also - XavierP56

I use my R7HE21 in NOS mode. I prefer, it is more alive. When I want to upscale, I put the R7HE21 in OS8. I'm not asking the computer to do it. Even though, if I want I can ask Roon to upscale to 192khz with Audiophonics card. I have received the Audiophonics card: It's good. Depending of...- XavierP56

What is puzzling is that HDMI is LVDS symetrical design which should be more immune to interferences. So it's strange we need better HDMI cable than the basic ones...- XavierP56

Well... Got my https://www.audiophonics.fr/fr/dac-...pour-raspberry-pi-spdif-i2s-tcxo-p-15821.html (Took this one because R7HE reclocks the inputs, did not see the point going with IanCanada more expansive setup) Setup: R7HE21 in NOS mode. When I meant option b) it was with an audiophonics i2s board of course. Will I notice a huge imporvement over USB ? Is a good power supply needed or a simple USB 5V 3A power adaptor enough since my R7HE21 has isolators on HDMI input ? Thanks.- XavierP56

Hi Guys, Using R7HE21 and Roon. 2 options here: What would be your choice ? a) Rock Server + Rock USB Player b) Rock Server + RPI 3b Roopieee HDMI output Currently using option a) but you do think option b) is worth investing ? Thanks.- XavierP56

Kingwa told me that difference is really minor. The mk2 is just easier for Kingwa to build but from a sonic point of view they are similar.- XavierP56

Got and R1 and R7HE. The R7HE is of course better but it's not night and day. I could live with the R1. But the R7HE brings a little something (more texture, hard to describe). To me it was worth it because I can listen for very long times and I'm fairly picky. Kingwa used to build loudspeakers...- XavierP56

Kingwa is a true genius, his products work so well - even entry models - and his prices are really fair. I would like to see Kingwa make loudspeakers again.- XavierP56
