I doubt that, when you look at the dac chips (and supporting hardware) in a good dap they are superior to those used in most dongles. How ever you can accept a lower quality sound reproduction for convenience, and not everyone can tell the difference.

I am not really sure if they did any market research on this. I think the dap market may be a little saturated with dedicated devices that are a bit large to be convenient. My most used playback device is a pair of bone conduction headphones that have some internal storage and Blue tooth...

Support got back to me, the say the first batch had wrong firmware loaded on it. I am going to se if Hifigo will let me return it, as they don’t seem to have a way to load the firmware remotely. I will look into the smaller Shanling unit as I am looking for something just to drive IEMs. Bill

I have a Cayin N7, and Hiby R6 pro. It sounds much like the Hiby (same dac chip) and close to the N7 R2R. Not as much drive but fine for IEM. I like the sound of it, when I get it sorted out for Google play I am sure it will be fine.

Well everything else aside it does sound good ( the main objective). I was just hoping to be able to use it for multiple things when I travel. I will use it with IEMs so it has plenty of power, good bass slam. All my home dacs are R2R and the AKM dacs sound pretty close to them so I like the sound.
