Sony WH-1000XM6 (Wireless Noise Cancelling)
They will reduce the digital gain to avoid clipping because an EQ is basically like a "volume control" but for a specific frequency. I don't hear a lower sound quality when using the EQ, but it is true the overall volume is reduced compared to EQ OFF. I am able to mimic the Elysian Pilgrim Noir...- voicemaster

Sony WH-1000XM6 (Wireless Noise Cancelling)
Got the XM6 6 days ago and I have been using it almost exclusively everyday. Initial sound impression was quite good, not impressive, but pretty good base imho. The ANC is the best from my other two ANC BT headphones (Focal Bathys and Moondrop Edge). Transparency mode is also the best from the...- voicemaster

Sony WH-1000XM6 comparison with WH-1000XM5
Just tried using 3.5mm cable for the XM6. Strong reminder to always TURN ON the headphone even while using the 3.5mm cable. When the XM6 is turned on, the 3.5mm cable is basically just bypass the bluetooth connection, while still retaining all the DSP built into the XM6. If you turn off the...- voicemaster

Sony WH-1000XM6 comparison with WH-1000XM5
I just think the mainstream user prefer more bassier sound than audiophile. Also, the targeted customer for their XM headphone line up is not for audiophiles in general. Can they make the XM6 line for audiophile? Sure, but we are kind of a niche market so profit won't be as much as going...- voicemaster

Sony WH-1000XM6 comparison with WH-1000XM5
The EQ is there to really solve this problem. For mainstream users, this is actually the sound they would prefer anyway.- voicemaster

Sony WH-1000XM6 comparison with WH-1000XM5
Just got this yesterday and quite surprised by how it sounds. Not expecting an "audiophile" type of sound, but it is not as bloated as previous Sony XM line from my experience. This is my EQ preset and it is quite good imho. I have the Bathys and while it is more detailed, but it is quite heavy...- voicemaster

The TWS + Neckband + BT Cable Adapter Thread
Elysian Pilgrim + KZ XZ10 What I like about KZ BT adapter (AZ09 pro, AZ20 and XZ10) is that they just work. I have bought and tried some other brands (UTWS5, TRN BT30 and iFiGO pods) and most of them have some connection problem like the pods themselves not syncing with each other, one side not...- voicemaster

equalizing in-ear is good or bad?
It can be. It just quite a hassle to do because it is source dependent. Unlike TWS that saved the EQ into the DSP inside the buds.- voicemaster

equalizing in-ear is good or bad?
The problem is you will need to use the same source every time you want to listen to that IEM. Unless you only use your IEM exclusively with your PC, it is such a hassle to EQ an IEM.- voicemaster

Its almost mid 2025 and people still believe LDAC is the best HI-FI CODEC out there?:sweat_smile: Those BIG BOLD "HI-Fidelity" on the box must be working out wonderfully.- voicemaster
