unfortunately the Xonar DG doesn't support dolby digital live, so if I wanted to use the Mixamp in the future (to mix the game audio and mic input), they wouldn't be compatible, right?

I didn't know why I didn't think of this sooner, but I tried the same test with the M50's and I hear the same things I'm hearing with the A900X's!  IT must either be a problem with the recording (doubtful) or something happening somehere in the audio chain (MBP-->nuForce uDAC-->headphone)...

Thanks for the replies!  I'll give it a try and see how I like the sound fitting it in between the nuforce and the m50s.  I'll report back, hopefully with good news :]

would it make sense to use the nuForce uDAC's passthrough capability to the digizoid, therefore bypassing the internal headphone amp completely?

  My current setup is a Macbok Pro -> NuForce uDAC (1st Gen) -> Audio-Technica ATH-M50's (I actually prefer my M50s to my TF10s with this setup.  Am I crazy? :P). With that said, I've been interested in the DigiZoid Zo 2.3 - I'm torn.  The Zo would function fine going in between my iPhone...

I currently switch between a pair of M50s plugged into a nuForce uDAC (1st gen) coming out of my laptop.  I've been on the fence on this one - would the E10 be a good upgrade?  Decisions...decisions... Any help appreciated!
