Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player
Maybe the chip shortage has got to them somehow or some mysterious change in direction. I need to hold on to the player considering they're going to be a rare breed now. I'm going back slowly to CDs, so it's a handy device to have a lossless copy to carry with me.- Tunster

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player
I'm 50/50 on selling it. I got rid of my Sony MZ-RH1 (last minidisc that was usable) and bitterly regret it. Great relic and collectable in audio tech. Don't want to do the same again. I noticed their press releases and new DAP gear has dried up. Have they officially announced this? Although we...- Tunster

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player
Is anyone still using this player? Struggling to justify keeping mine since adopting new AirPod Pros (and going back to streaming). Tempted to sell it, but got the feeling the market isn't strong for resell value currently on these players. The listings on eBay are very sparse and limited.- Tunster

I'd advise anyone to get them on second hand market while you can. Few have appeared on eBay and bagged myself some for £75 (unopened Gun Metal). I do have a pair of the LTD edition (red) from Japan but I used them so much that the metal work is in poor condition and one of the plastic inner...- Tunster

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player
I assume it is. As a last resort, I'd be tempted to do it myself (and take the player apart). It seems like the LCD/touch sensors are consistent as you have said between those models. I'd be interested to see if replacement parts are available somewhere. It's a typical thing of Cowon not to be...- Tunster

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player
Has anyone had to have their Plenue R repaired for anything? I'm based in the UK and it seems options for repair is limited. Unfortunately, my LCD screen cracked whilst being in my bag (seems something most of pressured the middle of the screen) and have a crack right down the middle. Advanced...- Tunster

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player
Figured it out from this little post... https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=cs&u=http://forum.avmania.e15.cz/viewtopic.php%3Ff%3D726%26t%3D1294400%26p%3D12123676&prev=search Just delete the user_settings.cfg and will prompt the region screen on bootup.- Tunster

I might have to go hunting for 1.10 (original FW that was on it). Doing a downgrade to 1.20 and back to 1.30 didn't trigger the region selection.- Tunster

I think the volume limiting has always been around, but they've added it as an option on non-EU regions. I wasn't sure if downgrading was possible. Surprised that people haven't tried to start working out some hacks/customisations to the firmware yet.- Tunster

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player
I got my new Plenue R yesterday and loving it already. Made the stupid decision to click English/EU region. Now my unit is locked to volume limits (stops at 80 and 81-140 is ineffective). Does anyone know to do a factory reset? There's nothing stated in the manual and nothing in settings...- Tunster

New Audio Technica Limited Edition Woodies: ATH-ESW9LTD!!
I'm definitely putting my hat in the ring for this one. Always loved the ESW9s (on my 2nd pair, but seeing some build quality issues on them only less than 2 years of owning). Thinking these will be my "home-only" pair and continue using my ESW9s out and about when I fix the jack (which...- Tunster

Just ordered some off of Amazon.com for $199.99. The price is amazing still after import tax/shipping compared to what I paid 5-6 years ago for them when importing them from Japan to the UK. Always loved the sound and cannot justify paying more money on the ESW11s when they arrive.- Tunster

NEW: Audio-Technica ATH-ESW11LTD
I really hope I can grab a pair of these in the UK. I loved my ESW9s and hoped they'd be a new version at some point. Anyone know a good exporter as I'd love to get these on release?- Tunster

Quote: Thanks cute! Will look at these as I don't want to spend the earth on a new pair of IEMs, but am going to be fussy enough to get that balanced sound. I am thinking of getting my ESW9s custom cabled at some point. I know I'll break the weedy cable one day!- Tunster
