Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player

Maybe the chip shortage has got to them somehow or some mysterious change in direction. I need to hold on to the player considering they're going to be a rare breed now. I'm going back slowly to CDs, so it's a handy device to have a lossless copy to carry with me.

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player

I'm 50/50 on selling it. I got rid of my Sony MZ-RH1 (last minidisc that was usable) and bitterly regret it. Great relic and collectable in audio tech. Don't want to do the same again. I noticed their press releases and new DAP gear has dried up. Have they officially announced this? Although we...

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player

Is anyone still using this player? Struggling to justify keeping mine since adopting new AirPod Pros (and going back to streaming). Tempted to sell it, but got the feeling the market isn't strong for resell value currently on these players. The listings on eBay are very sparse and limited.

    Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 Discussion Thread

I'd advise anyone to get them on second hand market while you can. Few have appeared on eBay and bagged myself some for £75 (unopened Gun Metal). I do have a pair of the LTD edition (red) from Japan but I used them so much that the metal work is in poor condition and one of the plastic inner...

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player

I assume it is. As a last resort, I'd be tempted to do it myself (and take the player apart). It seems like the LCD/touch sensors are consistent as you have said between those models. I'd be interested to see if replacement parts are available somewhere. It's a typical thing of Cowon not to be...

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player

Has anyone had to have their Plenue R repaired for anything? I'm based in the UK and it seems options for repair is limited. Unfortunately, my LCD screen cracked whilst being in my bag (seems something most of pressured the middle of the screen) and have a crack right down the middle. Advanced...

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player

Figured it out from this little post... https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=cs&u=http://forum.avmania.e15.cz/viewtopic.php%3Ff%3D726%26t%3D1294400%26p%3D12123676&prev=search Just delete the user_settings.cfg and will prompt the region screen on bootup.

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player

I might have to go hunting for 1.10 (original FW that was on it). Doing a downgrade to 1.20 and back to 1.30 didn't trigger the region selection.

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player

I think the volume limiting has always been around, but they've added it as an option on non-EU regions. I wasn't sure if downgrading was possible. Surprised that people haven't tried to start working out some hacks/customisations to the firmware yet.

Cowon Plenue R - All Round Player

I got my new Plenue R yesterday and loving it already. Made the stupid decision to click English/EU region. Now my unit is locked to volume limits (stops at 80 and 81-140 is ineffective). Does anyone know to do a factory reset? There's nothing stated in the manual and nothing in settings...

I've got the LTD editon red pair on it's way. Can't wait to compare these to my ESW9s!

New Audio Technica Limited Edition Woodies: ATH-ESW9LTD!!

I'm definitely putting my hat in the ring for this one. Always loved the ESW9s (on my 2nd pair, but seeing some build quality issues on them only less than 2 years of owning).   Thinking these will be my "home-only" pair and continue using my ESW9s out and about when I fix the jack (which...

    Audio-Technica ATH-ESW9 and ATH-ESW9A Thread

Just ordered some off of Amazon.com for $199.99. The price is amazing still after import tax/shipping compared to what I paid 5-6 years ago for them when importing them from Japan to the UK. Always loved the sound and cannot justify paying more money on the ESW11s when they arrive.

    NEW: Audio-Technica ATH-ESW11LTD

I really hope I can grab a pair of these in the UK. I loved my ESW9s and hoped they'd be a new version at some point. Anyone know a good exporter as I'd love to get these on release?

    Audio-Technica ATH-ESW9 and ATH-ESW9A Thread

Quote: Thanks cute!   Will look at these as I don't want to spend the earth on a new pair of IEMs, but am going to be fussy enough to get that balanced sound. I am thinking of getting my ESW9s custom cabled at some point. I know I'll break the weedy cable one day!

    Audio-Technica ATH-ESW9 and ATH-ESW9A Thread

Nice to see there's active users with these headphones. I bought a pair of these back in May 2009. Can't believe I've had them for over 3 years now when looking at the receipt and spending just over £200 on AudioCubes for these. Still going strong! However, I did have a minor disappointment when...

Wooden portable ATH-ESW9 arrived! (with pics)

I just received my ESW9s this morning. Had to wait all day to test them out as I thought I better not take them into work being £200+ worth! First impressions... well well! This is my first experience with a set of audiophile headphones. It'll be the test of time on whether I will warm 100%...

Wooden portable ATH-ESW9 arrived! (with pics)

Sorry to bring up this thread again, but mine are on the way! Just ordered on Audiocubes with the case. This'll be my first pair of audiophile headphones. I'm fed up with my cheapo IEMs and the DT770s (which I use for the professional radio studio) are too bulky to be portable. I was...

Advice Needed: iPod Classic + AT ATHES7 + iBasso D2?

If the D2 isn't going to the cut the mustard, I think I might save up for something better quality. I just don't want to go charging in and impulse buying my first pair of audio pleasure. Am I going in the right direction for the ATH-ES7s though?

Advice Needed: iPod Classic + AT ATHES7 + iBasso D2?

qusp: Thanks for the advice. I wasn't sure which forum to place it in as I wanted more general guidance (maybe more concentrated on the headphones), but maybe the amp is the important piece. The D10 looks a meaty bit of kit and I would get the uses as a DAC from my Dell M1330 laptop as well via...

Advice Needed: iPod Classic + AT ATHES7 + iBasso D2?

Hello all, I've been a lurker here for a very long time (since I was looking for my pro headphones - DT770s) and need some advice for my personal setup. My iPod Classic (6G) 80GB is being filled up having been neglected for a while with whatever I can chuck at it. I'm very picky with sound...

confirmed sony mz-rh1 better than ipod

All through this topic (all 4 pages!) and no-one has mentioned that fact the amp in the RH1 is HD Digital Amp (High-Definition). I can't do a direct comparison of an iPod vs RH1, but from what I remember of the iPod, the audio sounds like its beginning dragged through a holy bush and then...

    HiMD vs iPod

I have just purchased the new RH1 player. In the eyes of the MD fan, it is more than perfect with features that should of been on MD players at the start of the NetMD revolution. I did purchase the MZ-N510. A low-end MD player/recorder. Still works today, even 3 years on. There were too many...
