very expensive earplugs...
Hey Redwood: You are correct sir! If you have bass, the seal is good. If you need isolation, just put them in your ears with no music. I can sleep and ignore my wife at the same time.- tommyboytp

Silent headphones
The majority of my headphone listening has always been at bed time. I used a pair of closed Koss phones for 8 years. I switched back to these after having used Ety ER6's for a few months. She just about slapped me, even if the volume of the Koss phones was way, way, down. Total silence and...- tommyboytp

Er6 Foamies at Etymotic
Sorry to hear they didn't work for you. My perception is exactly the opposite. They only way I could get a seal before was to have that scuba diving vacuum in my ears. This emphasized the bass, reducing the treble. Without that vacuum, I have found a much clearer top end, but now I HAVE TO use...- tommyboytp

Er6 Foamies at Etymotic
I just found a listing for foamies for the Er6. Yesterday, there was no info other than price. I just ordered a set for me, me, me! $14 for 6- Not bad if it stops the pain- tommyboytp

I seek Bed-Fi!
Ex70's for sure. Quiet, no pain, semi decent sound at low levels. The ER6's will kill you if you lie on your side.- tommyboytp

anyone else find mx500 too big?
I purchased a set of Radio Shack replacement foamies for my MX400's. They come with two sets, one large and one small. Try and see which work best with your ears.- tommyboytp

Ety ER6 painful or hard to seal?
You are right about the "perfect seal" sound. When you get it right, very few things compare to the sound of these. I had a frustrating day yesterday. Nothing I did allowed me to experience the nirvana I was hoping for.- tommyboytp

Ety ER6 painful or hard to seal?
Hi guys: I have already tried most of the suggestion put forward. My MDR Ex70's work great with a light insertion, but these seem to require the same depth as a proctology exam. Both seem to cause me discomfort. The ER6's are being burned in as we speak. Much thanks, Tom- tommyboytp

Ety ER6 painful or hard to seal?
I just my Er6's yesterday. I am having a terrible time getting these things to seal properly. If I lie down, and don't move they are great. If I try to walk around, the seal is lost, and of course that means no bass. Has anybody else had problems?- tommyboytp
