    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

I have replaced the Aqvox usb cable by the AudioQuest Diamond usb cable yesterday; big improvement and takes the sound to a higher level   as said before: cables make a (big) difference! One should keep this in mind!

    Sneak peek of Audio-Technica AT-HA5050H (pre-production unit)

I did get my AT-HA5050H about three weeks ago (at a "bargain" price) and use it with my Pioneer SE-Master 1 headphones (source: Macbook Pro and Audirvana; all music AIFF files).   Before I used the Pioneer U-05 dac and amp.   Big improvement in every aspect compared to the U-05.   I also...

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

So far, I use the stock cable of the M1; unfortunately, one can not use the balanced cable on the HA5050.

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

My last post to the M1 is quite a while ago.   In the meanwhile I listened quite a lot to the M1, first also using the Pioneer U-05 dac and the balanced cable, what was quite an improvement compared to use it directly with my AK240 player and what was not a surprise.   At the beginning the...

can't see your problem: balanced cable is 3pin as is one option of the U-05 amp headphone outputs;   still waiting for my balanced cable; looks like it has not arrived in Germany yet

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

so, I have used the Master 1 (with my AK 120 II) for 10 more days and all I can say, it always is great fun (which I did not have, when I tried the HD800, which for my taste sounds in a way impressive, but also kind of clinical and not very involving; for me, the HD800 definitely needs the right...

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

I did compare the Master 1 last weekend at a headphone store with Audeze LCD-3, Audeze LCD-X and the new Hifiman HE-1000; unfortunately, I only had 2 hours, but I did get quite a few impressions   compared to the Audezes and the Hifiman 1000 the Master 1 is much more analytical and cooler...

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

I have listened to some rather bad sounding music yesterday and no surprise, the Master 1 shows you this poor sound (but still listenable)   I have also listened to the cd layer of the MFSL sacd Bill Withers - Live at Carnegie Hall, and this was a great enjoyment; I felt like being in the...

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

I managed to get some music (wav files) from my imac on my AK 120 II   compared to my iPod Classic/Vorzuge Pure II headphone amp the sound has improved quite a bit, what I had expected anyway, as the iPod Classic soundwise is much below of the Astell & Kern players   the bass is more defined...

there is a first test of the Master 1 in the german hifi magazine Test:   http://www.audio.de/testbericht/pioneer-se-master-1-test-klang-3079163.html   it did get the highest score of 97 points within the headphone section; from remembering: also some other headphones have been scored with...

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

I will compare the Master 1 to the Stax headphones in the near future, but I'm sure I will stick to the Master 1 (as the Stax 009 is too expansive anyway and also needs amplification, what makes it even more expansive)   I have listened yesterday evening to Jack Johnson - On and on, Paul...
