Edmonton/Alberta Meet MARCH 14th - The Gramophone
I had no idea Edmonton really had a Head-Fi community. Bryan told me about the meet yesterday, so I'd be happy to come. I don't have a whole lot that I could bring that are spectacular (Alessandro MS-1, Beyern DT770 Pro 250ohm, and a Little Dot MKIII). I'd be down to hear the HD800's and...- theAEoN

Thinkpad-compatible sound cards?
Express card sound cards do exist (i.e. X-Fi Notebook) but from what I heard they aren't terribally good and as far as I know, it doesn't support SPDIF (Older PCMCIA ones did). I think your best bet is to go USB instead of using the express card slot. UPDATE: Corection, the X-Fi Extreme Audio...- theAEoN

Want more folk metal!
My vote goes to Eluveitie, Tyr, or Heidevolk (although they're more power metal). -
DT770 Pro 250ohm gain for Little Dot Mk III
Hi, So my Little Dot MK III just arrived today and I was worried about the gain settings on my amp. Since it never shipped with a manual (minor) I was wondering if someone could help me configure the appropriate gain for 250ohm Beyern DT 770 Pro's with the Little Dot MK III. Cheers.- theAEoN

X-Fi Titanium as DAC
Ya, I forgot to mention that I wouldn't mind the solution to be good for gaming. Sine I haven't heard anything about external DACs and gaming, I'm shying away from what alternative. I'm looking at the Xonar Essence now as an option, but before I do that - I'd be interested in knowing how my...- theAEoN

X-Fi Titanium as DAC
Hey, So I'm upgrading my setup right now. So far I just purchased Beyern DT770 Pro 250ohm headphones and I plan on connecting those to a Little Dot MK III. My primary source is FLAC or 320kbps MP3's. The dillema I have is if the X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty is sufficent as a DAC or should I: 1...- theAEoN

I'll smoke Davidoff's on the way to work, but when I get home I'll stick to my briar pipe and some nice aeromatic virginia tobacco I get from my tobbaco shop.- theAEoN

Looking for comfortable headphones for PC gaming and video viewing
I'll upvote to the HD555s. I used them for about a year for gaming/home theatre and they worked well enough.- theAEoN

My first Hi-Fi Experience
Ya.... I foresee terrible things happening to my wallet. But hey, at least my music will sound good! I'm already looking at a desktop amp for a decent price, but I keep reading that with the HD555's it's not worth it since their impedance isn't that high. True?- theAEoN

My first Hi-Fi Experience
I've always been a fan of quality sound in my media, but I was never aware of the hi-fi movement for audio. Before last week, my idea of "hi-fi" were the $1200 home theater packages Futureshop sold. Good headphones were Sony DJ Monitors, and I've been running on a set of Creative T20's for my...- theAEoN
