The Sennheiser HD-600 thread
Ugh. So I enjoyed my HD600s for several years and then one day when I was cleaning the foam pads in front of the drivers .. they pretty much dissolved and tore into a million pieces of foam. So I instead just listened to them without the foam between my ear and the drivers. The problem is...- Tegmentum

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Does anyone know where to buy the black, oval foam cloths that cover the the drivers? I was trying to clean them yesterday and accidentally tore both to the point where they're useless now, so I need some more. Just the cloths that go under the velour earpads to protect the driver. Any...- Tegmentum

The Beatles or Pink Floyd.....Cast your vote
It's hard to compare the two and I love them both for different reasons. On one hand, The Beatles really have a lot of mystique about them since they did so much in so little time.. all those classics in the span of just 6 or 7 years. Pink Floyd are a little easier to poke at due to the turmoil... -
your favorite musical genre?
I'm also a metal guy at heart. It's what I grew up with as a teen and still find myself digging the hell out it, along with newer artists expanding the envelope. However, I've branched out quite a bit since then. Whereas metal made up a good 80%+ of my listening in high school, I listen to a lot... -
Instrumental music to go to sleep to
I'll throw in my recommendation for Amethystium. It's pretty much dreamy new age/chillout styled electronic music that really sets a good mood for me to enter sleep.. and no, I don't mean boring. :P -
Best "mastered" albums of the decade?
The first one that comes to mind is the (terribly long overdue) Chinese Democracy album by GNR. I was expecting a disasterous brickwall, but Bob Ludwig did a fantastic job with it (IMO). Both the cd and the vinyl sound really, really good sound quality/production/mix wise. The downside is of... -
Your Album of the Month
Possibly a cheesy pick to some, but I've been impressed with the new Blink 182 in the first few rotations thus far. Definitely a step up (IMO) from their comedic pop-punk days of the late 90s. -
Where do you buy your music?
For the digital files.. iTunes and Amazon. For physcal media, I still prefer to check our local independent brick and mortars first. Then I'll try forums and Amazon, etc.- Tegmentum

Lossless vs mp3 ABX results. (Among other ABX's)
I've run ABX tests in the past that yielded I pretty much can't reliably pick out the lossless source from the lossless until it dips down to around ~v4 mp3. However, I still primarily rip and listen to FLAC for peace of mind and because hard drive space no longer runs at a premium these days.- Tegmentum

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
I've really been wanting to try one of these. Heard a S.E.X. and it was quite good sounding the HD600s and so I'm imagining the Crack, as a dedicated headphone amp, will be the one to have.- Tegmentum

Most ridiculous album ever
Kevin Federline's rap attempt from a few years ago...(he's probably already a forgotten name) Also, for any metal fans.. the glam metal turn from Celtic Frost in the late 80s was an absolutel disaster. Wayyy worse than Priest's Turbo from a couple years before. -
THE best female vocals? (your favorite female singers)
A few offf the top of my head.. Folk: Joan Baez Pop: Mariah Carey (from 90-95 or so) Whitney Houston (from 85-93 or so) Rock: Jenny Lewis Stevie Nicks Country: Dolly Parton -
Lets Talk Metal
Enslaved's progessed quite nicely. I've really come to appreciate 'black metal' that challenges the status quo, like them and Ulver. Also really enjoing the bands that flirt with post.rock/metal like Jesu, Agalloch, and others. -
recommended songs for work out / gym / running ? adrenaline
Slayer - Reign in Blood's an obvious choice from me. Half an hour of pure adrenaline... and a total classic.
