Schiit Magni/Modi or Fiio e17/e9k or ......
I have been going back and forth one which one to go with. I also start seeing the higher end things and am soon out of price range (at least for now). Budget is about $200 for DAC/amp. This would be my first purchase of these. I've heard great things about the Magni/Modi combo and a guy at work...- techguy02

That would be awesome. I would go in a heartbeat. Sound like elsewhere there are many meet ups but in KC there are few ever.- techguy02

RMac: How do you have your Modi and Magni setup? Are they standalone or do you have it running through your computer. And your choice out of Magni or Fiio would be Magni?- techguy02

Hmmm magni? You have a link because what I found on that is like a hearing aid. The JDS labs cmoybb amp looks pretty neat. The fiio e7k or e17. Any of those look to be good for portable. Also hear good things about the digizoid zo.- techguy02

Head is spinning......headphone overload
Can anyone recommend a good headphone amp? I like the look of tubes but haven't done much looking into them. I read some things on Schiit audio and Fiio. Fiio is all digital from what I can tell and portable where as Schiit would be more non-mobile. If anyone wants to give their thoughts...- techguy02

Head is spinning......headphone overload
Nirvana Woman: I originally wanted to get the 598 but once these 595's came up for this price, I could pass them up. So far I am happy with these. Maybe after I get a better understand of these things I might be more Sennheisers, but would like to hear different ones. Main ones that sounds like...- techguy02

Head is spinning......headphone overload
Noobmachine: Unfortunately the area I live in doesn't have much to offer in trying headphones out. Bestbuy, Target, Walmart.....yeah cheap junk. I've bought enough of that. There are a few places but still trying to track down if they carry a range of headphones or just home theater setups...- techguy02

BrownBear: I will have to looking into those more. I have done some reading on those and pretty good things. I like when people do reviews on headphones but then they compare them to $500 or $1500 sets. Which yeah I get the higher priced ones would be better but my wallet can't take that on one...- techguy02

Kansas City, MO/KS meet anyone?
Even if its in April or sooner. Yeah we could have to find a place, until someone locally wants to host it. Never been to one and would be exciting to see all the different headphones, amps and other things. Also get pointers and stuff.- techguy02

soooo, I'm in KC too. Just got my first set of audiophile headphones. Would be awesome to have a meet sometime. I know I only have one pair but just be awesome to see what people have and the different sounds since there really isn't to many audio shops in KC (at least that I could find).- techguy02

Sennheiser HD595 Impressions Thread
Just got my HD 595's tonight. Compared to what I've listened with my whole life, WOW what a great change. These are my first audiophile grade headphones. This paired with my new sound card I have for my computer, I have to keep the volume at less than half. Still trying to fine tune the...- techguy02

Head is spinning......headphone overload
So I built a new computer and I wanted to have some great sound with it. So I started doing some research on headphones, headsets and sound cards. I purchased a decent sound card (at least for now) and I'm going to go with headphones over headsets. Since there are some many different...- techguy02
