I would say go for it. I had the Sony's, but after hearing the ATH-m30's I gave it to my brother. The mids and vocals are very clear, not thin like the Sony headphone. All in all a better headphone. And for those who love the Sony's because they can change the ear pieces to the Beyer pads, so...
