Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread

I had the same thing happen to me with a new Sennheiser HD 598 that I bought from Amazon. The box had been opened, everything had been messily packed back into the box, there was hair in the box and in the earcups, as well as dandruff and greasy fingerprints. It was pretty disgusting. I...

Which headphones do you use for PC gaming?

I've been using the Hyper X Cloud for gaming for a couple years now and still love it. Cheap with decent sound, good build quality, super comfortable for wearing all day long, and you can plug in a mic when you need it. I'm probably gonna upgrade to the Revolver when mine dies.

I was looking for a good solid state all-rounder for my desktop and settled on the Jotunheim (with the dac). It's sexy, the perfect size, and sounds great. So happy with it! And it doubles as a hand warmer when my fingers are freezing at my desk :p

Nice! I have the HE-400i and TH-X00 in my stable as well! I also have the Audeze EL-8 (open), ZMF Omni/Ori, and Audioquest NightHawk. I pair them all with the Schiit Jotunheim.

ZMF Ori (Omni) - Upcoming Semi Open Flagship

Agreed! I also use the same pairing and love it! The Jotunheim plays well with everything I have.

What are the most comfortable headphones regardless of price and sound quality?

From what I've tried so far, the Audioquest NightHawk and Fostex TH-X00 have been the most comfortable. Both are fairly light weight and don't clamp tightly on your head. NightHawk comes with the comfier stock pads though.

Hi everyone!   I'm fairly new to the audio world. At first I was just looking for better headphones for gaming, but as I did more research I realized there's this entire world to explore and I steadily fell in love. I'd heard about Head-Fi before but it seemed overwhelming and I was a little...

This is really useful! Thanks! It gets pretty overwhelming hearing people throw all the terms at you at once, so it's nice to have them explained/differentiated in one place.

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread

Agreed! When I have days off, I'm usually wearing headphones for most of the day and into the night. The NightHawk is so easy to listen to and so comfortable, it's my go-to for long sessions. It doesn't demand my attention the way some headphones do, so I can tune it out a little if I want...

    Headphone Stands

It depends on the width of the stand and your headband, as well as how thick the earcups are. The stand should follow the curve of the headband without stretching it too much, otherwise there could be damage over time. It's kind of hard to say exactly how much stretching will damage your...

    Headphone Stands

I use the I&S Millworks stand in maple/walnut (Massdrop) for the Hifiman HE-400i; SilverStone EBA01 in silver to hang the Fostex TH-X00 (it has space for 2 headphones); generic acrylic omega headphone stands for the Audioquest NightHawk and Audeze EL-8 (Amazon); and a generic wooden omega stand...
