Rosson Audio Design RAD-0 - Alex's Beautiful New Baby
It's the Cayin IHA-6 - so it's more of a preference for a certain frequency response thing. But I don't disagree, they sound generally very good - especially for the price. By the way if anyone is curious about the connectors, certain cables with 3.5mm connectors won't fit due to how far the...- Spandy87

Rosson Audio Design RAD-0 - Alex's Beautiful New Baby
I find the orchestral swell of classical music (when lots of string instruments are playing at once) is better represented by a frequency response that doesn't have that slight dip in the treble - or in other words doesn't have the minor 'gaps'. It sounds just fine for it, just not quite as good...- Spandy87

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried pad swapping to something from one of the other hifiman headphones of this shape?- Spandy87

It's not. The RAD-0 uses 3.5mm, but the plug housing is too tight to be able to use the Focal cables unfortunately.- Spandy87

ETHER 2: Impressions and Discussion
Haha I am indeed still in the 17-18khz club. Although likely not for long if I keep reviewing headphones as much as I hope to haha. I'll take the trade-off.- Spandy87

ETHER 2: Impressions and Discussion
Yup, that's pretty much how I hear it as well, although I don't think it's rolled off so much as just subdued between 5-8khz. Above that the treble comes back just fine.- Spandy87

ETHER 2: Impressions and Discussion
Yes. I only mean in the sense that it has a more relaxed and subdued treble. It's definitely warmer than neutral with stock pads, and I say 'super' hd650 because of A) it's better resolution, speed and staging, and B) it has WAY better bass extension - honestly it's got the ideal bass extension...- Spandy87

ETHER 2: Impressions and Discussion
Hey guys, I'm the author of that video and I just wanted to clarify a few things regarding the E2 that may have been missed. 1. The crinkle issue is caused by inconsistency in pressure from the seal - which is due to either my beard getting in the way, or where my ear is in relation to my jaw...- Spandy87

Review by 'Spandy87' on item 'HIFIMAN SUNDARA'
Introduction For this review I was fortunate enough to be selected by HiFiMAN to be on the head-fi loaner tour for the Sundara. I had previously been a bit disappointed with this 'upper mid-fi' price category, having reviewed the Beyerydnamic DT-1990 pro, and realizing that a lot of the praise...- Spandy87

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)
I was fortunate enough to be included on the loaner tour. I received them on Thursday and spent the better part of yesterday evaluating them - enough to give a first impression. I had recently reviewed the DT-1990, and lately I've been a bit disappointed with what this "upper mid-fi" price...- Spandy87

Yeah that's exactly how I'm thinking of it. Great analogy haha. The Hulk is pretty fast too, but in a different way. There are some 'non-hulk' planars as well (Hifiman), but I think you perfectly summed up what I mean by "sounds like a planar without the planar timbre".- Spandy87
