2.1 speaker system under $100
I've heard that they are great speakers for the price. They have decent bass for a 2.0 system but I doubt you'll get the same boomboom you get from the dedicated sub in a 2.1 system. However some reviews on Amazon mention a heat problem after prolonged use. If you can get them for...- sookee

Under $200 computer speakers—Music only
I don't know if it's possible to hook up the av40 to a sub. Maybe this thread will help: http://www.head-fi.org/t/614965/hooking-up-a-subwoofer-to-my-m-audio-av-40s You should definitely NOT connect the av40 to an amp though. Also you don't need a stereo receiver to run the av40 by itself.- sookee

Under $200 computer speakers—Music only
If you like a lot of bass (metallica drums, movies) then it's a good idea to get a 2.1 system. I just received my Polk RTi6 bookshelf speakers yesterday and set them up as a 2.0 system. Even though the overall SQ improved, I miss the bass from my 2.1 pc speakers. You can always buy...- sookee

2.1 speaker system under $100
It's hard to recommend any 2.1 system other than the promedia 2.1 in that price range. If you use headphones for music and gaming, I think a cheap set of Logitechs might be enough for your needs.- sookee

Recommendation for desktop speakers
would this Lepai Tripath T-amp work with the Polk RTi6? It seems like a good option. No DAC though. Would it be possible to expand this t-amp setup to include a powered subwoofer such as this one?- sookee

Best 2.1 setup for under $100?
How do these compare to the audioengine A2s? Unfortunately $150 + amp is way out of my budget right now. Apparently they were only $105 on woot a few months ago. I'm not really in a hurry to upgrade so I guess I'm just going to wait for an amazing deal.- sookee

Best 2.1 setup for under $100?
I did some more research and now I am leaning towards the M-Audio AV 40. It's $120 on amazon right now. Is this a good price? It's a 2.0 set so I was thinking I could add a sub later on. How does the AV 40 compare to 2 bookshelf speakers + amp for around the same price?- sookee

What other freeware music players besides Foobar2000?
I've tried foobar, mediamonkey, songbird, and finally MusicBee. Foobar was great. I just couldn't get used to the lack of a library view. Songbird became too bloated. Mediamonkey was alright. I haven't tried v4 yet though. MusicBee is my favorite so far. It has all the features I...- sookee

Best 2.1 setup for under $100?
I want to upgrade my 2.1 system for my laptop. I've heard great things about the klipsch promedia 2.1, but there hasn't been any good deals on it lately and $150 is out of my price range. Would the Logitech z623 be a good option for $100? Everyone seems to hate the logitechs here. ...- sookee

Comply foam tips
I've had my S4's for a few months now and I'm still lovin them. I'm thinking about getting some upgrades for it. I noticed that some people have recommended the Comply Tx-100 tips. What's the difference between these and the T-100 and are these worth upgrading to from the stock tips? On...- sookee
