i was about to get the hd 280 pros for 80 dollars, how well do these jvc compare,,, and take into account the 60 dollar difference

ive been in the market for headphones for some time now but i still cant make up my mind. these are for my pc, i have a tbsc, mainly for games such as cs and for music (rock and alternative), want to keep it below 50 if possible, but willingly to spend a bit more to get something that is worth...

i do know that i dont want earbuds. I like the larger ones like the 280's, i guess its really not that important if others around me can hear or if i can hear them, sounds like my best bet for the money is the 497's.... correct me if im wrong... as for the sony's... i dont know anything about...
