ive been in the market for headphones for some time now but i still cant make up my mind. these are for my pc, i have a tbsc, mainly for games such as cs and for music (rock and alternative), want to keep it below 50 if possible, but willingly to spend a bit more to get something that is worth it. prefer closed if i can find something that fits. Right now im between the hd 497's and the 280 pro, not sure of any other models, open to any suggestions.

I read somewhere in the past few days that Amazon has the 497s for $47. The Koss Porta-Pros can also be picked up for about $30. Both of these will keep you under your $50.

If you need a good closed phone for under $50, I've heard that the Sennheiser HD 202 is a great buy. The Portapros and HD 497s are sure bets, but only if you don't mind that they're open. The HD 202s can be had for ~$30 I believe.
