Which do you use more, a full size headphone, or speakers?
My headphones get more eartime, just because I can't take my speakers to work.- sientobente

So are there any car audio fans on here?
It is headphones > car audio for me. There are a lot of factors to make car audio sound good and even an IASCA/EMMA champion won't be able to compare to a good headphone setup. Mostly, this is because of external noise, unwanted resonance and reflections. Given that these items may occur in a...- sientobente

No bass in PC audio
This is what I think. Probably the input selector isn't set right on your Yamaha when playing music. While when playing movies, your software like vlc player automatically feeds the information on what was being decoded( DTS, Dolby Digital/AC3 etc.) in which the AVR by itself will switch into...- sientobente

No bass in PC audio
Not familiar with the 673 settings but doing pure direct mode isn't really a good idea. It bypasses the internal processing of the AVR which includes the internal DAC, DSP and bass management. If your yamaha does not let you adjust the bass, is there an option to disable YPAO and make the...- sientobente

Recommendations anybody?
For some reason, I wasn't really a fan of the HD598. I like the look and how ultra-comfortable it was but I find the sound a bit lacking. I used this extensively for about a week and tried different amps on it. From a Fiio E17, E12, ALO RX MK3, Ibasso D-Zero to a Hifiman EF2a. Source was a DXD...- sientobente

Recommendations anybody?
The HD558s will benefit greatly running amped. Been through different audio gears for a long time and the best advice I got was do it right the first time. If the price difference is just a little to get the Momentum, go for it. It will save you the cost from upgrading in the future and it will...- sientobente

Looking for headphones
Haven't tried the m4u1 due to it's unavailability in our country but the Momentums probably are the best unamped headphones I have ever tried. It will be best if you try both to know which sound character is for you.- sientobente

Gym earphones?
Hi, I'm new to the site :) For IEMs, I have a few, like an Audio Technica CKS55, AKG K311 and a Polk Audio Ultrafit 1000. Among them, the Ultrafit seems to be the best one to use in the gym, but the sound quality is horrible. It feels underpowered driven by my iPhone 5. Bringing a portable...- sientobente

Sennheiser Momentum impressions thread
Quote: The cable feels flimsy because it's thin but it doesn't mean it's low quality. In fact, it's made out of kevlar. http://en-us.sennheiser.com/over-ear-headphone-momentum-stereo- sientobente

Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review
I'll share my impressions on the Momentum against the akg k550. Using the same source and unamped, the 550 sounded anemic and thin compared to the Momentums. The bass too sounded artificial on the 550 while he Momentum provides that much slam you're looking for in that area. What I like though...- sientobente
