New supraaural headphones from Thinksound: On1.

Everyone should own a pair of wooden cans. Maybe they'll grow on you. You should think M500 and On-1; not or ...

Looking for a good versatile over ear headphone for $200 - $300 (approx £200)......any suggestions?

You may want to audition the B&W P7/KEF M500/Thinksound On-1. These are all equally good choices. It narrows down to clamping force and comfort.

Don't know why but I have a feeling that on the ear headphones might not be for you :). Have you considered the B&W P7? Although, the On-1 is one of the most comfortable on-ears I have used ever.

    Will Audiophilleo work for me?

Thank you. I think it is time to bite the bullet then.

New supraaural headphones from Thinksound: On1.

I got a pair of these a week back. These headphones sound way better than the $300 I paid for them. Clamping force for me is optimal. The ear pads are very comfortable and I can easily listen for a couple of hours before I remove them. I use them with a Meridian explorer DAC or Alo Audio Island...

Roll call: Indians staying in India, interested in high end headphones/IEMS

No Sir, not me. I am a bit wary of purchasing audio equipment online in India. I still think we have to travel some distance in this space. And, if Hifiman say they won't provide warranty, what's the point anyway?   I have a question of my own now:   What do you guys do for Indian HD music...

Roll call: Indians staying in India, interested in high end headphones/IEMS

Good news is that now we get a lot of components in India (Meridian audio has 3 showrooms in India), although very expensive still (Meridian explorer might be a good addition to a desktop rig, but is clearly 70% more expensive than if one sources it from the US/elsewhere).  Should be interesting...

Newbie looking for his first amp

I have used a Fiio E7 and can vouch for the nice step up in sound quality. It is easily the most under-priced amp/dac in its category.

    SR71B, 2stepdance, mk3

I have an iPod classic => CLAS => SR71B=> LCD2 set up. I use the balanced cable from double helix for LCD-2. If I am on the move I switch to Beyerdynamic DT 1350. Both the set ups are amazing but the balanced set up is obviously an advantage. I think you could always upgrade to a balanced cable...
