    LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread

It seems the Blk B/Red F somewhat lessens the mid bass hump vs the Black B/Pink F..to me. May just be the increased upper frequency balance difference.

Nope-I'm still on these too. Provides the best balance of bass, mids, and highs to me. I like the mids on this combination as it seems the most natural-not too thin nor too forward. Bass has articulation, balance, and level and the detail is still there on the high end-or, so my old ears say...

I have the same issue with the Blue Fronts ..just too sharp in the upper mids though I do like the treble extension. This sharpness-seems to thin out the instruments whose frequency ranges this falls in. With the Red Fronts, instruments just sound more fleshed out, more body and soul...

The LZ A2 is a great earphone-bass is on par with the LZ A4 'Red' Backs and sounding warmer due to a bit more 'spill' into the bass area, mids are good but not as good as the A4, highs are very well done-plenty of clarity and resolution. It's still a great iem. I do think the A4 nudges it out a...

Absolutely no worries here Peter, if it wasn't for your review and input on the A4's, I wouldn't have jumped on the band-wagon. I owe you the humblest of 'Thanks'. Thoroughly enjoying the A4's.

Your right, though the A4 is definately a step up, more accurate-clearer and more revealing, I find it to be more an improvement and refinement of the A2. This shouldn't mean to detract from the A4, which I really do find superb-but should speak of how good the A2 was/is in it's own right. YMMV...

You know the A2 and A4 sound similar though the A4 has virtually no bass bloat, is more even handed- excelling with it's midrange reproduction and perhaps more revealing because of these attributes. I really do like them both though the A4 has numerous benefits other than just the sound: tuning...

I'm a bit afraid of leaving the back off also and it did seem reduce the balance on the low end. After trying the black/red backs and green fronts, I'm back to black back/red front. The green front is just too mid forward for my preference. I do like the treble range on the greens though. YMMV...

I've found the same thing after trying the green fronts-really like vocals and most instruments gaining flesh and body though with some material i find the mids a bit too forward. Reducing the volume does alleviate this of course but would like an intermediate filter with slightly reduced mids...

I didn't notice too much in regards to tonality problems though the A2 sounds a bit warmer and has a sweet top end. The A4 is cooler-more evenly balanced and sounds somewhat more revealing. I think the A2 is a little V-shaped but the A4-not so much. The A4 bass does not intrude into the mids and...

They'll work great for your IEM monitors. I've been using the LZ A2 for this duty awhile-no problems. I think the A4 will hold up better as I feel the build is more robust. I've not had any problems with the A2 but they don't have detachable connectors so I'm careful with them. Isolation will be...

I second that emotion. Switched from the Red Back/Red Front to the Black Back/Red Front and find the bass end a little bit better in balance in this format-The Red backs were just a bit too elevated on much material-though with great punch and articulation. My feelings exactly with the blue and...

According to the chart-the Green-Grey-Pink filters change the bass extension as well.

Great to have the ability to adjust for our preferences.

Yeah that 'bright' perhaps slightly 'edgy' is what prompted me to move from the blue front nozzle filters to the red. It seems to me that the upper midrange frequencies-think the 3k-4k region is in better balance for me with the red fronts. Since this is the frequency region we are most...
