Sound card - Disabling internal amp?

I don't think I'm explaining myself well enough or I'm misunderstanding something. I want to have both my speakers and headphones connected to the sound card at the same time, so my line out would already be used for my speakers. Don't I need two line out's (1 RCA/1 headphone) to do this?  ...

Sound card - Disabling internal amp?

Right. but I need to have a separate line and headphone output to listen to my speakers and headphones, and those that have that feature all seem to be amped. I read that the STX has impedance settings, according to this...

Sound card - Disabling internal amp?

It seems most sound cards now come with an amp'ed headphone jack, is there a way to disable the onboard amp so I don't damage my external headphone amp? I would like to use my desktop speakers and headphones without have to plug/unplug anything so the line out will already be used. What sound...

Forte headphone out to another amp

My frankenstein Grado sr60's stitched together with solder, shrink tube, and tape finally bit the dust, so I've ordered a pair of Beyer DT880/600's and a Fiio E9 amp. I have a couple questions about this setup.   1.) My Sound card is an auzentech forte with a built-in headphone amp. I don't...

    SR-225 repair

Same thing happened to both sides of my sr60's. I used JB weld and its held up very well. Rough up the metal pole thats going to be epoxied (sandpaper or dremel) for a better hold.

    Well built/comfortable Grado alternative

Today I ended up buying new pads (HD414 replacements) and I cut off the Y connector and all but 1" of the cable on the right side, I then spliced the thinner cable onto the left side to make it longer and routed it through the headband and then joined it all on the right side. I am hoping this...

    Well built/comfortable Grado alternative

I am familiar with MB quart and their car audio equipment but I have never heard of them making headphones. I can't see to find much info on their website or ebay about these phones.... do you have any links or reviews to share?

    Well built/comfortable Grado alternative

Are Grado's just that good that there are no alternatives? I thought I would maybe get some ad-900's or HD-600's...... I know this is all subjective but I hate to buy another pair of uncomfortable POS headphones that will fall apart in 2 years, unless thats the absolute price for fidelity...

    Well built/comfortable Grado alternative

"i'm not sure about grados improving their build quality at all. But I couldn't stand wearing the sr60s for very long when I had them. Bowl pads with my ms1s really made a difference in terms of comfort/sound. Sr225is come with bowl pads and up come with bowl pads." Are the Bowl pads the same...

    Well built/comfortable Grado alternative

The stripping posts were caused by my youngest daughter playing with them several times unattended and after I JB welded them they have held up..... Like I said I like the sound but don't really want to spent 6mo of pain breaking them in and have to replace them in two years..... it seems...

    Well built/comfortable Grado alternative

As I write this I am listening to Star ****ing Hipsters on my well used grado SR60's that are ~2 years old. When I first received them they made my ear's feel like they would bleed from pain..... after ~6 months they were broke in and while not comfortable were bearable. Today I have had to...

crappy audio on front jack solutions

The headphone out on the front of my case (antec p180) hisses and the headphone out on my keyboard is even worse (Razor lycosa) Are there any good/cheap solutions? It's a pita to plug it in the back every time but I would rather not spend $80 for the creative I/O drive if its not needed. Also...
