Yes they are amped....I have two Pioneer AVR 's and I had them hooked up to both......the sound is o.k but Im in search of a dedicated HPA. I have some studio monitors in my listening room with 10" woofers.....I have those as backup if all else fails....lol. i listened to KORNs MTV unplugged...

Ive heard of the MOD but I think I'm going to keep them stock and purchase another set of HP that are more HeadBang worthy....lol Next on my list is a HPA though. \\m//

Forgot to mention that my sons are the STUDIO.

My 11 year old wanted a pair for Xmas, so thats what santa brought him.....I honestly don't care for them at all. Uncomfortable....poor mids or treble. At least he was honest and said that my 701 sound a lot better when we had a " Listen Off ".

I only purchase 2-4 games annually so the $60 price tag does not bother me. I think that prices will drop once the next gen consoles switch to digital downloads.

I play BF4 and Ghosts and they are both good but different. BF4 = bigger maps, 64 multiplayer, and more strategy involved imo...sometimes I get overwhelmed by all the action. Ghosts= smaller maps , 24 multiplayer(I think) and gameplay is alot faster....you definately have to keep moving...lol
