    RME ADI-2 DAC Thread

Yep, I don't think any other DAC can match the features of the RME. I would admit that I had fun playing with plethora of options on the RME. I usually dislike DSP and similar features, but RME does it professionally and doesn't go overboard with the implementation. The features make impact...

    RME ADI-2 DAC Thread

As a DAC alone Gumby (At a bit higher price though) does a much better job. Way better dynamics and agreeable tone/timbre. At a much lower price, get a Vintage PCM63 DAC and mod the hell out of it. Parts + unit cost won't exceed $400.

It can't sound bad, it's made in Germany.

    RME ADI-2 DAC Thread

Had the privilege of listening to the RME ADI DAC. Thanks to an extended loaner from a Forum member. So this thing is much smaller than it appears in pictures. Same size as that as a set top box. Build is extremely light for a $1k product. The bundled manuals are heavier than the Unit. To make...

    Oneplus 5T?

OnePlus 5 output volume is decent but the quality is horrible. Similar to what ac97 boards use to churn out.

    AUNE S6 DAC/AMP Combo

What does power have anything to do with quality. If numbers really matter to you get any cheap Crown amp and run HD650 through the speaker taps. It'll definitely blast your ears but would be a disgrace to HD650's potential. HD650 is plenty loud with the mojo. Although compared to better desktop...

    AUNE S6 DAC/AMP Combo

If only compared to S6, mojo is a lot better. The S6's amp section sucks. The DAC section too is below average. The mojo in comparison sounds resolute, much better microdynamics. Treble is debatable though.

He's already there. & Assuming Torq indeed got a defective unit, they are trying to arrange another unit.

Roll call: Indians staying in India, interested in high end headphones/IEMS

Anyone in Bangalore with Gumby, Yggy or any other TOTL DACs (non sabre/AKM4490) ?

There is a reason to Mojo's popularity. Most of the Mojo crowd are DAP/Portable stuff users. And most of the portable stuff suck so bad that even the average sounding Mojo appears to be a "one eyed man among the blind". I myself never liked the Mojo but after having the (dis)pleasure of...

If something is expected to turn from un listenable to gold with just burn in, that's just fooling yourself. People first say 'you didn't burn it enough' ......then the defective component excuse....and now 1000+ hrs burn in, what's next?

Touch boosted treble but otherwise fairly neutral. Despite a bit high treble energy levels its not bright at all. However, the treble tone is completely wrong so is the bass. Quality wise its quite clean and textured (hence resolving). My phone is the only portable source I use. Occasionally I...

Not fond of DAPs in general due to the compromises but I think Hidiz AP60 is VFM and acceptable SQ if you can look past the thin lower treble. A mimby/modi2 stack would sound more potent than most portable solutions. Sony DAPs have good tonality but lack power for anything but the most sensitive...

Hi there, The unit belongs to my friend and is around a couple months old. I heard the unit while new and again few days back. The tone/timbre is so screwed to begin with that its difficult getting used to it. A&K 300 has an even worse tone but is easy on ears. I can oversee the one note bass...

No direct comparisons , but from memory: Sansa clip zip - Unresolving, sandpaper treble, for the price not offensive but still unlistenable, previous gen sansas were better iDevices - Very clean, poor depth, treble glare, dry sounding, lack bass dynamics, average tone/timbre Hidiz AP60 - Warm...
