Lucky you. I have been searching all day, no luck.

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Commenting on @donlin , The Benchmark is one fine DAC. I use them in the Hauptwerk configurations for organ construction. If anyone wants to upgrade to the Benchmark they would not be sorry. For my own personal stereo I running my headphones through the PS Audio unit: StellarGain Cell...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Hi @Mike F, The closest I came to listening to the 650 was when I purchased a new pair of 650's five years ago during one of those big Black Friday sales. Unfortunately the right channel was dead on arrival and I sent it back for a refund. So I never actually listened to either the 600 or 650.

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

I think @Mike F is onto something, we are all crazy and being musicians definitely helps going further into the deep end. I myself have over 23 thousand usd invested in a home stereo system but sadly I haven't found headphones that talk to me. My wife also plays some very expensive harps so I am...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

It is leads a pleasure reading of other folks music experiences. Mine was a little more complicated than most. I had the most unbelievable experience of being a student of Lenard Berstien for two semesters at Princeton. He was a true genius if music and I wrote 3 symphonies under his direction...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

In my profession as concert organist and composer most of my companions use either the AKG K712 or 812 and the Beyerdynamic DT150, 250 and the 880. I own the AKG K7XX and they are ok, not great but just ok although the comfort is superb. I had a few hour listening session with the Beyerdynamics...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Since I do not own any Sennheiser headphones at all I was hoping to grab whatever goes on sale for Black Friday in November. The 660s is very new so I doubt it will go on sale so I will be left with either the 600/650 or 6XX. It will be interesting to finally hear what a 6xx series headphone...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

If I was to make wish this year I would wish the 660s go on sale for Black Friday. I really want one.

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

The 150 ohm impedance does make the 660s more attractive so I do not have to carry around 40 pounds of equipment around with me just to listen to a single headphone when on the stage. I was hoping for something nice and small like a Fiio or an Ifi portable amp for the phones when on the road...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

I recently purchased the Senn HD-598 CS and had them for around 1 day (and returned them). I had them on for a 7 hour session with a group of musicians setting up a concert. The ear pads were a little thin and after 7 hours I knew they would not work out for longer sessions in the future. They...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Wow, @Mike F, that was a fantastic post. I myself compose music and perform classical music. I played in orchestras in New York city for years and have a pretty good ear. Which brings me up to my search of the right headphones. The HD-600 and 650 seem to scare me away due to the very high 300...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Help, Help oh Sennheiser experts. I just purchased the Sennheiser HD598 CS for electronic church organ concert setup and practice. It turns out that the 23 ohm impedance (23 ohms) is too low and the headphones are too loud. I also found out that having open headphones will not be a problem...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Sorry to hear that, which is not exactly what I was hoping for. I like calmed down treble and tight but accurate bass. I guess I will start looking elsewhere.
