Has anyone had to replace their headbands yet? Mine is flaking quite a bit. I replaced the earpads already (with sheepskin ones, no effect on the sound!) but now it's the headband's time to go

And what exact data did you compare? The data you were being sent by Audeze was likely from their production line test, which is measured using a KU100 binaural microphone (not an acoustic head simulator, despite it roughly looking like a head). My measurements were done on a Type 4.3 ear...

Correct, somewhere at 100-105 dB at 60 Hz is where the distortion might become audible (depending on the music of course). At mid and high frequencies the distortion will not be audible. Note, "audible distortion" does not necessarily mean that it'll sound worse, just that it might be...
