Neutral/laid back sounding IEM for about $100?

Hey All,   I know, I know, it's another thread asking for the best IEM under $100. I've read most of the big threads and articles around the Head-Fi world, but haven't found a clear answer since the market changes so often.   I like a neutral to smooth sound, with an emphasis on the...

Senn PMX100 best active headphone under $50?

The reason I don't want a PX100 is that I wear a lot of hats and the headband would get in the way. I figured the PMX100 would be appx. the same.

Senn PMX100 best active headphone under $50?

Hey all, Having had my UM1's bite the dust, I have decided to return to the world of portable headphones. I have owned KSC35 & KSC75, but they broke (I only recently realized about the lifetime warranty) and I would like something a bit more balanced in sound. The Koss both sound the way...

ASL MG Head DT/OTL MKIII Tube Rolling Experience

I have an older version, but my favorite combination is actually the Raytheon 5751 windmill and a pair of Mullard 7189 power tubes. The Raytheon is punchy and deep, while the smooth Mullards have enough low end to support the real strengths of the Raytheon. I have a pair of Amperex el84's that...

    iPod batteries

ipodbatterydepot.com is also excellent. I purchased one a few weeks ago. It had by far the highest capacity, came with the tools to replace it, and cost the least. There are also coupon codes to knock off $3-5, which makes it the best option IMHO.

iPod Photo sound distortion eliminated by Rockbox?

I don't know, I had to replace the HD, with a 30GB drive and now it is my secondary source for the bedroom with the dock and remote. It still does its job quite well and still is used almost daily!

iPod Photo sound distortion eliminated by Rockbox?

Yeah, I still use your old U2 4G sometimes and it clips like crazy with my UM1's. the battery is shot so I think that Rockbox would just about kill it. Yes. That generation clips, unlike my 2G or 3G nanos.

Can't decide on a new flash player...

Why not bump up your top price and get the 2G 8gb Nano from Apple's refurb? I just got a 2G nano with the free iPod college deal, and even though it doesn't too much it is so small and easy to use I love it. Sounds good enough with my UM1's. Also, they are completely aluminum so there is no need...

Another Bluray vs HD-DVD tidbit to consider...

You can get both HD DVD and Blu-Ray through Netflix... That is how I get all of my HD DVD movies and TV shows... I finally get to watch Heroes in HD and not have to pay out the ears to buy the set.

Recommend me some vintage integrated amps

Look for anything made by H.H. Scott... but only tube amps. Their solid state stuff was alright, but by then their quality dropped. Good luck. My restored H.H. Scott LK-48 can rival any $1000-$2000 integrated amp today and after everything I spent about $400 on it.

    BluRay or HD DVD? Poll

HD DVD is much more of a complete package... the picture-in-picture video commentary, ethernet connectivity, etc. I have one and I LOVE it, but due to the difficulty of the fact that Blu-Ray has better exclusive studio support, I think that HD DVD is doomed to be 2nd place at best.

Stone, Express, V Plus, Zen Plus Nano?

I just picked up a Zen Stone... it sounds good with my UM1's but the battery life is kinda dissapointing. For $40 you can't lose much and it also is UMS so it doesn't need any special software to load music. I really like mine as a supplement to my ZVM.

Question about power charge for Zen Vision M

It's on top where you switch on the power. Just click the switch toward the little lock icon. It will turn the screen off when playing, but charging via USB will always leave it on... I think.
