Decent IEM's, Two Strikes Already
Quote: Wow, thank you! Looks like those Panasonics will be my best bet. I can tolerate highs pretty well, better than most, as long as they're not "tinny", like super cheap tweeters or earbuds. I forgot all about Panasonic until now. lol I had a set of their $50 cans years ago, and they...- novaks47

Decent IEM's, Two Strikes Already
Those Klipsch's look like they're over the ear only. Are they? Thanks for the suggestions thus far. Any more options that I should consider?- novaks47

Decent IEM's, Two Strikes Already
Quote: Thanks for the advice. These were earbuds though, and I kept the volume really low. Plus, I listen to music a lot less at work now. And I already have huge hearing damage from two concerts. Still good advice though!- novaks47

Decent IEM's, Two Strikes Already
First off, let me start with what I listen to. Metal. I like bands like Arch Enemy, Cradle of Filth, King Diamond, Illnath, Cthonic, Abyssos, Kreator, Amon Amarth(older), Decadence, etc. I have some Grado 225's, for home, that I LOVE, so the upper end is covered. I'm now looking for...- novaks47

Audio Technica A-700s : Meh
Hmmm. I forgot about Grado. I always did want to try out the SR80s. I wonder how they would stack up against the FC7s. It's such a tough decision, because I love the way the FC7's sounded. They were easily driven, and all the levels were just right. I usually found myself turning down the bass...- novaks47

Audio Technica A-700s : Meh
I'll definitly have to put those on my "possible" list. They are a bit more cost-wise than the 700's, but then again they seem worth it. Any recommendations for other cans within the $150-200 range that would also be as good or nearly as good? Dang, it's so tough to decide when it comes to...- novaks47

Audio Technica A-700s : Meh
Thanks for the info. Those 900Ti's are definitly appealing. It's interesing how the Ti's have a lower impedence compared to the 700's, yet far higher power handling. Do they require more power to extract the best sound, or are they just as happy as the 700's with less power? The 700's sounded...- novaks47

Audio Technica A-700s : Meh
My Audio Technica FC7's broke recently, so I decided to go with the slightly pricier A-700's(sealed back). I've had them for two days, and I'm not that impressed. They are very comfy though. SQ wise, the highs are fantastic, but that's about it. The bass is ok. They seem to lack that mid-bass...- novaks47

How often do your headphones break?
Before, all I had go wrong with headphones were the jacks. But that was only on cheap($10-15) in-ear phones, which I wear at work all night every night, plus I'm always moving, so it's expected that they're going to get messed up. But then tonight(at home), my first pair of decent cans(Audio...- novaks47

Creative V or Sleek?
Cool, thanks for the info. Yeah, size is an issue, which is part of the reason why I'm upgrading. I'll probably just go with the Zen V, due to it's portability, plus 8GB is still plenty of room.- novaks47

Creative V or Sleek?
Well, it's time for me to upgrade to a smaller, hopefully better sounding mp3 player. I currently have an old Creative Zen Xtra Jukebox 30GB. The SQ is not bad, but a little lacking in bass, and the amp is a little on the weak side. I'm torn between these two : The Creative Zen V+ 8gb, and the...- novaks47

Another Portables Thread
Cool, thanks for the info. I'll keep the Sony's in mind, but the Grado's look like what I'm after, the SR 80's in particular. A little more than I wanted to spend, but they seem to be worth the little bit extra.- novaks47

Another Portables Thread
LOL, my bad. I should've announced my disdain for Sony. No offense, but I've never heard anything from Sony that I liked. Car audio, home audio, low end, high end, you name it, I don't like Sony. Again, no offense. And, for know, forget my budget. Any more suggestions?- novaks47

Another Portables Thread
OK, let me start off by saying that I've never owned high end headphones, or even midrange for that matter. I listen to metal, mostly death, and I also listen to power metal, and some hard rock. Some examples : Cradle of Filth, Iron Maiden, Hammerfall, Arch Enemy, and Illnath(no slipknot or any...- novaks47
