Looking for ~$75 phones. Decent bass, low profile, no extreme isolation.

I unfortunately can't "try before I buy" so I'm seeking your advice. Currently, I have a pair of Sennheiser CX300s that are starting to cut out due to me not taking care of the cables. I've learned the lesson, but also would like to upgrade. I've read a boat load of reviews, but I have a...

My new AKG K240 MKIIs sound like.... farting?

More info. The Headphones are 55 ohm The book for the amp says it outputs at 8 ohm I was told that you want your source to be 1/10th your rated load or less... so I would want something that outputs at 5 ohm or less. Does that sound right?

My new AKG K240 MKIIs sound like.... farting?

New data: I plugged them into the 1/8" headphone out on my computer subwoofer. I can play treble stuff as loud as I can stand and they sound great. The bass notes, however, distort really bad. You get that distorted muddy "Rawp, rawp" instead of "Boom boom". I plugged in a pair of cheaper...

Bass Guitar, AKG K240 Mk II head phones, I need something to go inbetween them :)

I just picked up a pair of AKG K240 MkII headphones for playing bass guitar through. I tried plugging them into my practice combo amp's headphone out jack, and I guess that doesn't push enough power. I ultimately would like to have something that I could take with me and plug both my bass guitar...

So what's the fix? Headphone amp? Recommendations? I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible.

My new AKG K240 MKIIs sound like.... farting?

The combo amp headphone jacks powers other cheaper headphones I have just fine. I'll play around with it tonight on a few different sources and see what I find. If I'm not mistaken, the k240 MKiis should have a 55 ohm impedence, which I think should be fine on just about anything. I mean, I...

My new AKG K240 MKIIs sound like.... farting?

It's the best way I can describe it. They sound decent on music, but when I run them out of my headphone jack on my bass guitar combo amp, the bass guitar notes sound like farting. Like someone is doing Raspberries in my ear. I figure either: A) I got busted headphones B) My headphone jack...

Looking for mid-priced $100-$200 headphones for Bass Guitar playing and recording/mixing

I went and listened to the majority of these and here's how it turned out: The top runners for sound were: 280 Pros K240 MKIIs MDR-V6s The results: The 280 Pro felt like it was squeezing my head in a vice. No good. The MDR-V6 and K240 MKII had equally beautiful sound, but in the end...

Looking for mid-priced $100-$200 headphones for Bass Guitar playing and recording/mixing

I'm looking for a pair of headphones for predominently bass guitar playing. I would also like to dabble in mixing my bass guitar into pre-mixed tracks, like tracks given to me from the band members sans-bass for me to add the bass in. I'm looking at: Equation rp-21 Audio-Technica ATH-M50...
