Hello. This is my audio set up  on windows 7 x-fi soundblaster audio card for MDR XB -700. With  this equilizing on AIMP3 audio player and on  original setting in audio card for bass and treble you will get very very good sound quality for any genre in music.  

 Overrated cans  are definitively JVC HA-RX700. They are in very good built quality.strong plastic, big 50mm driver, wide soundstage. but thats all   some of the critics said that they sounds  much better than some model headphones over 100 eur. In my opinion they sounds just like for that...

these MDR XB700 are definitively for trance, idm, downtempo,downbeat,dub,d'n'b,tech-house music.experts  from sony made them for that kind of music. for ipods mp3 players ,digital sound carrds. not monitoring neutral sound.
