How much would I be sacrificing if I went for the sr5bts instead of the 550s? Sounds like the 550s are really terrific but the cost for me is daunting. Someone trust worth the also recommended to me the new dunos. They are IEM's of course. Any thoughts about them would also be appreciated.

The only issue I had with the 750 sound signature was that they at first seemed a little veiled. However, I tried the foam tips and that went away. I think perhaps it's a matter of finding the right tips. The supplied tips did not alleviate the veiled sensation. Since I'm not a big fan of foam...

Very interesting observations.I feel like there is nothing wrong at all with the 215s (save a bit muffled) but they just don't compare to the 750s. I would not have had that view right out of the box.   It's true the 750s just get better over time. My first reaction was in fact a bit negative...

I want good bass AND good clear mid and treble and presentation on the warm ish side - e.g not a lot of sibilance. But not so warm it obscures the mids. And a budget around 125 at the high end. Doesn't seem that unreasonable...

I do believe in burning in but it's not a good sign if they need 300 hours. Btw I am leaning towards giving the shure 215 Se a try.
