    chill-out artists?

Genre's are so difficult to pin down sometimes. So I'll tell you the artists whose style I'm looking for and the setting in which I hope to listen to them and hope you guys can suggest some new stuff for me. Trip-hop maybe the actual genre... I picked up an almost completely instrumental...

Ety ER-6i upgrade: Shure e4c or Ety ER-4p?

I'm going to bring up a strictly superficial concern: Ety 4Ps tend make one look silly with pigtails and all. That said, I've owned both. My 4Ps cracked after about 3 years and I sent them to get fixed immediately. One channel of my e4cs went out and I threw them in the trash.

High noise floor with my vinyl set-up

I appreciate the reply. I'm at work and will have to answer these a little later in the day. I believe it is the latter (noise apparent and consistent regardless of volume level.) What is EMI?

High noise floor with my vinyl set-up

Hey all, I'm looking for some opinions before I spend more money. My vinyl rig is Music Hall MMF-5 > RSA XR-2 > RSA HR-2 > AKG K701 One thing that bothers me a tad is the relatively high noise floor I experience with it. I've tried to find the source of constant buzz/hum and I've ruled...

    Etymotic's Amazing Customer Service!

I'm just chiming in to vouch again for Ety's wonderful customer service. I purchased my ER-4Ps in November '04, so they were out of warranty. Like some the others, my transducer chipped. I was quoted a max of $85 to replace the transducer, but would be contacted once they knew the price for...

    High quality A/B switches

I'm wondering if anyone can provide any suggestions for what I think would be called a dedicated A/B switch. That may not be the proper name for such a component, which might explain why I can't find any. Basically, I have a turntable set-up that includes an RSA HR-2 headphone amp. I...

    New vinyl rig component advice

After some early hiccups, I've gotten my brand new Music Hall MMF-5 up and running. My wife didn't realize the need for a phono stage, etc. so I'm now in the process of deciding on those. This is my first trip into vinyl although I've been collecting albums over the past two years in...

    Music Hall MMF-5 Antiskate problem

Todd, looks like you were right about that tracking force. Complete bonehead move on my part. So, in the future, should any other boneheads be looking for a solution to why their tonearm won't stay in contact with the album with the anti-skating weight applied here's a possibility: In 3rd...

    Music Hall MMF-5 Antiskate problem

I have and that works. I just assumed that it was always something that had to be corrected. The instructions didn't have any language like "if 'skating' is a problem use the anti-skating weight ..." So if I'm not experiencing it, or not seeming to experience it, it can be bypassed? Thanks for...

    Music Hall MMF-5 Antiskate problem

Hey guys, I received a Music Hall MMF-5 for Christmas and am very excited about getting it to its optimum playing potential. But I'm having trouble with the anti-skating weight. I can balance it and set the tracking force (using the tracking force gauge supplied with the table, there's a...
