AUDEZE LCD XC
Hey folks, just thought I would write with an update to my XC experience. I bought mine a few years ago and went through the requisite upgrades as they became available, namely the CF headband, Dekoni velour ear cups, and various cable replacements. I'm currently driving them with a Marantz...- Mozhoven

AUDEZE LCD XC
Don't fret it man. I had a hard time at first too. I felt they were too bright and harsh, especially coming form a Sennheiser 700. I did two things that helped greatly: 1) Switched to homemade Canary Starquad cable. Easy build and it warmed up them up and punched up the bass. 2) Wanting more...- Mozhoven

AUDEZE LCD XC
I have had my pair for about 8 months now and really like them. They have the newer drivers and I replaced the headband with the carbon fiber version, and made my own cable out of Canare L-4E6S Star-Quad Microphone Cable. (an all-copper cable that really warmed them up) I only listen at home. I...- Mozhoven

AUDEZE LCD XC
I would agree with this as well. A warm amp like my Marantz HD-DAC1 drives these cans like a champ, and makes them super fun to listen as well. I'm actually surprised more folks aren't talking about a Marantz/XC combo more. They are the perfect antidotes to one another...- Mozhoven

Haven't heard much about Marantz in this thread. Anyone powering the XC's with HD-DAC1 or AMP1? Thoughts?- Mozhoven

Source for interior PCB parts - Sennheiser wirelss RS220 - Help needed!
Hello all, I'm looking for help finding some interior parts for recently acquired pair of broken Sennheiser RS220 (recently-discontinued flagship wireless model, aka HDR220). Specifically, I'm looking for the interior PCB's located in each earcup. I can't find a part number anywhere, and...- Mozhoven

Marantz HD-DAC1
Seems like an issue for another thread. You'll get better help if you will post the issue in its own topic. This one is to discuss the HD-DAC1....- Mozhoven

All of the sudden my SACD ISO's are skipping ahead every 4 seconds. It was working fine, but after I installed the command-line plug in for ffmpeg decoding and Monkey audio decoder it started acting up. I removed them, but the problem persists. Anybody know how to fix this?- Mozhoven

Am I hearing things? Stereo Vs. Multi-Channel Surround with Headphones from a stereo source....
The source file is 5 or 6 channel surround, but my DAC does not decode more than two channels, so it must be summing them into R and L. My question has more to do with the sound differences I hear between the stereo "summed" version from a surround original, and the mixed stereo version of the... -
Am I hearing things? Stereo Vs. Multi-Channel Surround with Headphones from a stereo source....
Hello all, I would like to know what is going on when I listen to a surround sound recording of a given track vs. the stereo version of the same recording with headphones through a standard headphone amp. In many cases I feel that the surround version has a bigger soundstage, instrument... -
Marantz HD-DAC1
Anyone have a problem with the DAC1 unlocking (and clicking) constantly while jumping around within a given track? Is this normal? I know that it is when switching between different sample rates, but seems odd behavior in a single track. I tend to jump around a lot for certain tracks and the...- Mozhoven

Thanks, that seems to help. I also realized that the longest delays were because of pop-ups/ads in my browser taking control of my DAC between albums. My DAC unlocks between tracks ( or even when jumping around in a track) giving just enough time for another source to take over. Super annoying.- Mozhoven

Ok, so I've got a new issue: Why does it take so long (sometimes never) for playback to start in Foobar? Rather than using the media directories in FB, I prefer to navigate and select my collection via Window Explorer folders. About half the time my files start immediately (or close to it)...- Mozhoven
