I have files that contain music, pictures etc.. and i need to back up these data files on DVD-RW disks

well when i originally burn it is ok, then when i try to edit it and add files to it it messes up and doesnt even recognise that there is anything on the disk

I bought some DVD-RW disks and i want to use them like an external hard-drive to back up my files from my laptop, and then add to them and update the files after. I have a CD/DVD-RW burner, what software should i use to do this that is free?

I have only just got iTunes and i was wondering what podcasts people listened to? Any good recommendations?

I installed Mozilla Thunderbird on my computer and realised i didnt need it anymore. So i tried to uninstall it by using 'Add and Remove Programs'. But when i click on 'remove' it just freezes up and i can't think of how else to get rid of it, can anyone help?

I have just downloaded Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and so far i dont think much of it, its slow and harder to use than Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0. Anyone know a good way to get rid of it from my computer??
