Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread

Any one knows where one might try the TH900 in NYC?   Based on everything that I've read, I'm considering buying the TH-900 or Senn HD 800.   Unfortunately, I was yet to see the Fostex in the wild, and would love to give it a listen before making a decision. It will be quite helpful if...

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

I tried both the OEM 7506 pads, and the Velour ones (oredered the Auray ones from B&H). I found the bass more controleed, and the isolation to be better than the 1RBT OEM / 7506 OEM. As I previously stated, I am not an expert, but there's no way I am going back to the original ones, now that...

    AccessoryJack sales them for $340.

I could only snap a few pictures with the iphone. Unfortunately, I don't have the 1R version, so I can't comment on whether it is possible to install the pads on it. On the 1RBT installation is as easy as installing it on Sony's 7506 or v6.

I'm using the 1rbt with iOS 6. No problem what's so ever.

I agree that it changes the sound sig, but you'll be hard pressed to find someone who was not pleased with the replacement of the pads on the 7506. While I can't give any scientific data about the isolation of the velour pads, I can only suggest that the pads work on the 1RBT, and that I am very...

I bought the Auray because I wanted the grill cover which the Beyer do not have. As far as isolation/leakage, I find the velour suprior. If you read about the velour pads in regards to the 7506, you will see that most confirm that they do isolate better than the OEM pads.

Sounds like there's some issue with your pair. I have been using mine on BT mode for the past 10 days. I never had such issues when pairing it with my Macbook / iphone / ipad.

I bought the pads on BHPhotoVideo: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/886945-REG/Auray_epd_mdr7506_Deluxe_Velour_Earpads_Pair.html   Here are the Beyer: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/313962-REG/Beyerdynamic_942704_Padded_Earcushions_for_DT250_DT280.html   You can also order...

Looking at your link, I can tell that the 1RBT is a bit different. Is seems that on the 1R the pads have these little "holes" on the boundery that supposed to fit over the plastic tabs of the headphones. They probably did it to keep it in place. On the 1RBT, on the other hand, the pads looks...

You can order Velour pads through Amazon or B&H.   There's the Beyerdynamics DT250 Velour that works with the V7506, so I am assuming that since I was able to use my 7506 pads on the MDR-1RBT, the DT250 pads would work as well.   There's also that Pearstone Deluxe earpads that should fit...

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

I bought the BT and I am very happy with it. I went to the sony store, and compared it to the regular version, and decided to go with the benefit of wireless. To my ears, while they sounded different than the non BT version, I couldn't say that the sounded worse - just different. I enjoy...

I am assuming you compared Bluethooth mode of the RBT rather than passive mode. In the gift guide, it says:       The bit that got me to order these ASAP:       Can't wait to try them myself, but honestly, to me when looking for a portable / in the office headphones...

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

I know that this is the MDR-1R thread, but I couldn't find a good thread about the MDR-1 RBT (bluetooth version). If the holiday gift guide 2012 (wireless) is true, than this is going to be an unbelievable headphones.   For the past few months, I was searching for a good set to use on the go...
