I have a modded DAC and a stock DAC 60. The modded DAC is a completely different DAC. The stock DAC 60 sounds compressed and slightly grainy in the high end. The modded DAC removes all that + gives you added resolution.

I have heard too many repair issues with the East Sound. Plus I also heard that the sound is some what compressed. In lieu of all that, I have my sites set on a MHZS CD 66 that I found on Audiogon.
