hi,

are there dvdp's.universals,or cdps that take redbook and send it as 24/96-192+ to the spdif output? this way it would already be upsampled if my dac does not upsample. the dac just locks to what is sent.

would letting the player do this conversion help or hurt the sound?

thanks,

I doubt it makes much of a difference beyond the algorithm that is used. Jitter characteristics would still be the same.

i am finding that externally upsampling 16/44.1 cd's with a upsampling dac or the monarchy device does not nescessarily make a desirable improvement.

upsampling cd players make an improvement on some cd's depending on the sampling rate. that is why i guess you can turn it on and off and change the rate.

just what i want. fiddle with the buttons instead of enjoy the cd.
