Your favorite sub-$1,000 closed-back headphones?
I remember I swapped out the stock pads for ones from ZMF and it was definitely an improvement, but still not enough to make me forget about the discomfort. For reference, I also had the Focal Elear, Beyer Amiron, and Sony Z7M2 and those were infinitely more comfortable.- MikeZhao

Your favorite sub-$1,000 closed-back headphones?
Oh boy... I loved the final audio sound but their line of headphones are some of the most uncomfortable I've ever tried. To each their own, but at meets I would hear the same feedback from others quite frequently. Super disappointing because it really is a fantastic sound.- MikeZhao

Do you use EQ for headphones?
Agree with your sentiment fully but you definitely lost me with your analogy lol. I see it more like dining at some upscale restaurant and when the chef brings out the main dish you decide to add salt to his creation.- MikeZhao

Do you use EQ for headphones?
I use a ifi micro iDSD BL at my office and it's not worth it to me to get a proper amp and dac there. anyway it has a nifty xbass and '3d' feature that pretty much acts as EQ and it's surprisingly well done. doesn't distort the sound in a negative way and makes most of my music more 'fun' -- not...- MikeZhao

Has anyone noticed any differences (major or minor) after burn-in? I started listening to mine right out of the box and I'm still under 50 hours.- MikeZhao

Your favorite sub-$1,000 closed-back headphones?
Hah it is what it is right? I keep my open-backs at home but they're just not an option at my office so I have to make do. Different situations and it's just not a fair comparison. I find that I get 'spoiled' with the extension and soundstage of open so going to closed the next day can be a...- MikeZhao

Your favorite sub-$1,000 closed-back headphones?
Like a few people have mentioned, I had the TH-X00 Purplehearts for about a year and just rarely used them. Just couldn't get into the sound, it was a little too unnatural for me (too bassy). And it didn't help that comfort wasn't great, although I never tried swapping the pads. I've heard...- MikeZhao

Sony MDR-Z7M2 Headphone Thread
I've now had the Z7M2 for a month now and I'm now sure I made the right choice when I went with them over the Elegia. The combination of price and sound put it over the top for me. To be fair, I also own the Elear so I had slightly different expectations for the Elegia and it just wasn't as...- MikeZhao

Are these Sony h.ear wireless earphones fake?
seems like a lot of trouble to go through for relatively low cost headphones. usually counterfeiters target products that would result in better margins. none of that is specific to what you're looking at here and with the extremely limited details you've shared, i doubt anyone else on here will...- MikeZhao

I know you were just trying to be helpful but I can assure you I'm not wearing these wrong. Not my first rodeo... these pads are just some of the softest I've come across and don't have the same more rigid feel that I'm accustomed to with other headphones.- MikeZhao

Sony MDR-Z7M2 Headphone Thread
has anyone looked into replacement pads? i'm finding that my ears are pressing up against the drivers -- not severely, but just enough to be annoying. was looking for something a little roomier but i'm worried about changing the sound signature too much. thoughts?- MikeZhao

Your favorite sub-$1,000 closed-back headphones?
I recently picked up the Sony MDR-Z7M2 but I was curious what other closed-back headphones in a similar price range people were high on. Just curious more than anything...- MikeZhao
