    CanJam SoCal 2015, March 28-29, 2015

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask: will there be a DIY-fi exhibitor room where DIYers make their gear available for people to listen to?  If yes, how can I become an exhibitor there?

    IC: Vancouver mini-meet - Jul/Aug 2014

I'm interested.  I have a few DIY pieces I built from AMB Labs, and a DIY DAC that I did myself which I can bring, for those interested.  I also have some great 24/192 demo material.

Vancouver Audiophile Meet May 18, 2014!

I am already bringing some completed DIY gear (one amp + one DAC), but would it be appropriate for me to bring 'in-progress' DIY gear?  Specifically, I have a working prototype of a high-end DAC that I designed, which people could look at and listen to, if they want.  Would there be any interest...

Vancouver Audiophile Meet May 18, 2014!

Could someone please bring an HD650 or an HD600?  I have never had a chance to try either of those with the rest of my setup, and I am thinking of buying one in the near future.

I'm definitely interested!  I can bring some DIY power amp and DAC hardware that I have made!

    A balanced Alpha20 Heapdhone Amp? <Edited>

Quote: Cool, thanks nikongod.  Another region of the DIY realm I guess I have not yet explored/come across.  I suppose if I search around a bit, I'll come across some people who have recommended certain values for the 880 (which is primarily what I plan to use, for the time being).  ...

Quote: Is this what you're talking about? http://www.meier-audio.homepage.t-online.de/   I've never heard of anyone doing this kind of setup.  I will certainly consider it, thank you for this tip.

    A balanced Alpha20 Heapdhone Amp? <Edited>

Well, thank you nattonrice.  Any help is good at this stage.     I was planning to drive 880's (with balanced XLR terminations, of course).  Although, I think I might use it with 650's in the future as well.  Haven't decided that yet.   I'm also hoping someone can estimate for me how much...

    A balanced Alpha20 Heapdhone Amp? <Edited>

Quote: This is also quite thoughtful.  I'd never heard of this amp design until now.  Indeed the organization of the board in this design is perfect for side-heat-sinking :)

    A balanced Alpha20 Heapdhone Amp? <Edited>

Quote: Thanks for this response, nattonrice.  But why would I necessarily prefer the bjt output over the MOSFET output of the M3, or vice versa? Simply because of sound?  If they're comparable quality, I'll probably go for the alpha 20's, purely based on size.

    A balanced Alpha20 Heapdhone Amp? <Edited>

Quote: Well, I already have a decent single ended amp.  I thought it would be cool to build my own.  I also thought it would be really cool to try out a balanced setup some day.  So why not do both at the same time?  I have heard other balanced setups, and I like what I heard.  As for...

Quote: Thanks for pointing this out...you're right I just typed something other than what I intended to.

    Oh god...yes, I meant alpha20, not epsilon24.  Stupid error.
