    Introducing the Audeze MM-500!

Call me crazy but I’d take the X with EQ over the MM-500. That being said, if reading the word “EQ” triggered your gag reflex, then get the MM-500.

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

Makes sense… that’s why I said could be the sax itself or could be something in your setup. Wind instruments make all kinds of sounds close up that you don’t really hear a lot of the time. Lots of moving parts. Makes sense you’d hear some of these quirks with a good setup

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

Saxophone has a lot of moving parts. Literally anything can be rattling from a screw to a rod to something in the mouthpiece. For the “kazoo sound” it’s likely a way the overtone series is ringing with the playing. Potentially the amp is imparting some harmonic distortion as well. LCD-5 is not...

Does schiit currently offer any DAC with the same footprint as the Mjolnir 3? Will they in the near future?

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

Lol I didn’t mean that it was exactly the same as an HD600… just that if you’re used to an old-audeze tuning even going to an HD600 would be a lot. Agreed! And this is probably what I’d also personally suggest over trying to bring down the 3k peak. Now I wonder how they conducted that research. 😂

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

If you’re open to EQ… I’d try giving them a bass boost and filling in the upper treble a touch rather than bringing down the midrange peak. I think what makes the midrange shouty for some is mostly that the upper treble is dark. Unit variation might even account for some of the mixed...

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

Mine sound great. They are a HAIR too forward in the midrange for my taste but, I find I adapt to the tuning super fast after putting them on and that the sheer neutrality up to that mid-range peak is really nice. I bought mine a year ago and essentially left the hobby (successful endgame imo)...

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

3db bass shelf at 125hz is literally all it needs to my ears. But you can use this tool to create an EQ profile. https://listener.squig.link/5128/?share=Listener_Target,LCD-5 I believe that squig was traced from a measurement of my unit! Ymmv as there is a tiny amount of unit variation in the...

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

@Audeze seeing as your mm-500 and LCD-5 measure so similarly, what is your take on “why” an MM-500 is worth less than an LCD-5? What are the benefits to the design of the LCD-5 that make it “worth the cost” to the listener. Of course there are many reviewers who claim a myriad of subjective...

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

Does @Audeze have any measurements of the LCD-2f on the 5128 that they are willing/ready to release? I would be curious to see them. The LCD-2 are still one of my all-time favourite headphones and I say that as an LCD-5 owner.

    Introducing the Audeze MM-500!

I use a chord Hugo 2, have considered downsizing to the Mojo 2 but I still haven’t gotten around to comparing it with the Hugo. Nonetheless… while I can always get them loud enough it’s sometimes surprisingly high up on the volume knob when running EQ in tandem with specific tracks/albums. I...

    Introducing the Audeze MM-500!

While I personally think the LCD-5 is quite neutral as it comes and is just a little “darkened” in its colouration. I also think that you can do a lot with EQ on the LCD-5. Just keep in mind that LCD-5 is not an easy can to drive and if you’re thinking about doing some really radical EQ you may...
